Oncology Breast Clinic Nurse Practitioner
Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY

Under the direction of a physician, plans, assesses, implements and evaluates total nursing care to a specific patient group.  Orders, performs, and interprets laboratory and diagnostic testing.  Performs therapeutic treatment and gives patient care directions to nursing and other staff.  May prescribe medication, provide emergency care, and make patient referrals to appropriate licensed physician.  Requires Nurse Practitioner certification.

 

Breast Nurse Practitioners providers will:

Full time weekday scheduleOccasional call coverage for own patients only over weekend or after hoursExperience as an NP is required with a minimum of 2 years’ experienceOncology or Women’s Health experience is preferredEvaluate, assess and manage a wide variety of patients with benign breast disease (such as breast pain, abnormal breast imaging, nipple discharge, high risk lesions), breast cancer, and at high risk of breast cancer due to family history high risk lesions or genetic mutation. Independently provide care in outpatient setting, seeing approximately 10-15 patients per clinic day including new patients and full up careCollaborate with an interdisciplinary team to include breast surgeons, general surgeons, medical oncology, radiation oncology as well as compassionate support and ancillary staff.Physician and APP friendly, collaborative work environment

QualificationsMaster of Science degree with completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner required.Board Certification Nurse PractitionerTwo (2) years required proven experience working as a Nurse PractitionerIdeal candidate will have background experience in  with and treating breast cancer patients, oncology or long standing work history as a women’s health nurse practitioner.Current state licensure as a Nurse Practitioner required. Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse required.Current NRP and PALS certificationsDEA and CDS eligible.Additional Information

Compensation:
