Oncology Medical Advisor

Job Description

The Medical Advisor is a valued co-strategist on cross-functional country teams, with Marketing, Market Access and Policy. The role reports directly to the Oncology Medical Affairs Lead and will be responsible for the Oncology portfolio.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Consolidate actionable medical insights from the country that can help inform company strategiesTranslate the Global Medical Goals and Strategies into research, data analysis, scientific communication, educational, and other tactics and solutions that improve patient outcomes and enhance access in their countrySupport execution of and quickly adapt tactical plan to business realities in countryCommunicate both scientific and business needs credibly, appropriately and effectively across a variety of internal and external stakeholders at all levelsBuild trust with external scientific community via peer-to-peer scientific exchange, research and educational collaborations, interactions with scientific societies and health organizationsDevelop and execute country medical educational programs and symposiaLead country advisory boards and expert input forums to inform company strategyProvide therapeutic/functional training to assigned teams and affiliate functionsInfuse country’s scientific and healthcare environment perspective into Regional Medical Affairs TeamsFollow-up on investigator-initiated study proposals receivedParticipate in and contribute significantly to professional organizations, academic or regulatory working teamsAct with ethics & integrity; provide non-promotional, balanced, reliable and scientific information, follow strictly company standards and local regulations Scientific & Technical Leadership

QUALIFICATIONS

MBBCh or PhD is the minimum requirement for this position, linked with the appropriate experience and the profile requirements for this position. A person with post-graduate qualification in any discipline of medicine or management will be strongly preferredPharmaceutical industry experience is preferred

 SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

Experience in pharmaceutical, medical-aid, clinical research or public-health sectorStrategic thinking, specifically related to asset value proposition, and clinical and value evidenceDeveloping a network of scientific leaders and successful interactions with other key stakeholders (public groups, government officials, medical professional organizations) in therapy areasProven ability to effectively communicate information at country management level, with public groups and to scientific leadersExcellent interpersonal, analytical, communication (written as well as oral) and results oriented project management skillsStrong prioritization skills and ability to understand how decisions fit into the broader context of corporate strategiesIn a matrix environment, able to effectively collaborate across functionsBusiness acumenComputer literacyValid drivers licenseMust be willing to travelHigh work ethic
