Summary: Assesses, develops, implements and evaluates the plan of care using the nursing process and proactively anticipates patient needs; provides individual assistance to patients, families and care givers serving as the primary clinical contact for patients navigating their healthcare journey; organizes multi-disciplinary and/or multi-centered care, facilitates effective communication with care providers, and provides education for patients within their primary disease site; coordinates all education and training required for the care team; responsible for the patient experience by ensuring excellent customer service and timely management of any patient complaints; ensures that all patient questions and/or concerns are referred to the proper department and addressed in a timely manner; serves as the point of contact for patients with questions about their plan of care; provides navigation and promotes adherence to treatment through patient contact between provider visits; performs all duties of the Nurse II. Salary range for this position is $96,227-$113,534 which is inclusive of a base salary and geographic differential and includes a comprehensive benefit package.

Qualifications:Required Education and Experience

License Requirement
License to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of New York.
Certification or eligibility for Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS).

Education and Experience
1. Bachelor’s degree in Nursing and the equivalent of one (1) year of full-time oncology nursing experience or critical care experience; or
2. Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, the equivalent of one (1) year of full-time medical-surgical experience in an acute care setting and completion of Roswell Park Nursing orientation with the ability to function independently at a satisfactory level for three (3) months as a Nurse I at Roswell Park; or
3. Bachelor’s degree in Nursing and the equivalent of three (3) years of full-time medical-surgical experience in an acute care setting; or
4. Associate’s degree in Nursing and the equivalent of three (3) years of full-time oncology nursing experience or critical care experience; or
5. Associate’s degree in Nursing, the equivalent of three (3) years of full-time medical-surgical experience in an acute care setting and completion of Roswell Park Nursing orientation with the ability to function independently at a satisfactory level for three (3) months as a Nurse I at Roswell Park; or
6. Associate’s degree in Nursing and the equivalent of five (5) years of full-time medical-surgical experience in an acute care setting.

NOTES:
1. Incumbents must obtain and maintain applicable certification, as required by area of specialty and outlined in Departmental procedures, within eighteen (18) months of appointment to this position and as a condition of continued employment.
2. As a condition of continued employment, incumbents must obtain certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) within six (6) months of their appointment to this title.
3. Incumbents must complete twelve (12) cancer-related contact hours per calendar year unless certified by the Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation (ONCC).
4. Required degrees must have been granted by an accredited school, college or university or one recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center as following acceptable educational practices.
