Oncology R&D Summer Internship

We are seeking three undergraduate Juniors, Master-level, or PhD-level students, working towards a degree in biology, biochemistry, cancer biology, molecular biology, cell biology, biopharmaceutical/pharmaceutical science, biomedical science, or other related field, for a 10-week Student Intern role in Gaithersburg, MD for a May 19th - August 8th contract period.

This posting is for the following three internship projects:

Investigating and validating biomarkers of resistance to ADC payloads

Generation and culturing of cell lines resistant to ADC payloads.Validate biomarkers identified from multi-omic analyses by conducting Western blots and imaging studies.Work with BioInfomatics/Data Sciences to compare parental cells to resistant cells.Use cytotoxicity assays to confirm that payload resistant cells are also resistant to ADCs conjugated with those payloads.Collaborate with team members and participate in meetings.Present project findings at the end of the internship period.Analyze and communicate research results to team members.

In vitro assay development for evaluation of tumor targeted conjugates

Design, conduct, troubleshoot and analyze in vitro experiments using an array of biochemical, molecular and cellular biology techniques to validate new targets and dissect the mechanism of action of novel cancer therapeutics.Collaborate with team members and participate in meetings.Present project findings at the end of the internship period.Analyze and communicate research results to team members.

Deciphering mechanisms of cell surface expression and internalization of B7 immune regulators

Design and perform experiments to study protein expression, protein internalization in advanced cell culture systems.Develop combination treatment with antibody-drug conjugates and characterize combination activity.Collaborate with team members and participate in meetings.Analyze and communicate research results to team members.Present project findings at the end of the internship period.

Position Requirements:

Undergraduate Juniors, Master-level, or PhD-level students, working towards a degree in biology, biochemistry, biological science, cancer biology, molecular biology, cell biology, biopharmaceutical/pharmaceutical science, biomedical science or related field. **Candidates must have an expected graduation date after August 2025.Wet-lab and pipetting skills, liquid handling experience, and aseptic techniques knowledge.Tissue culture, cell-based assays, and Western Blot analyses experience is required.Familiarity with bioinformatics tools, immunofluorescence microscopy, flow cytometry, transfection/transduction of cells, and qPCR.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.Enthusiasm for collaboration, cross-functional projects, public speaking, and presentation design.Ability to report onsite to Gaithersburg, MD five days a week. This role will not provide relocation assistance.Minimum grade point average of 3.0.
