Description:

The Oncology Scheduler is responsible for scheduling outpatient diagnostic testing, assisting with the billing process for reimbursement of provided services, and assisting with the outpatient registration process.

What you will do

schedule and confirm patient diagnostic testing appointments and provide testing requirements and instructions to patientsinterview patients to obtain and/or complete testing documents, medical case histories, and forms such as intake and insurance formsOperate office equipment such as voice mail messaging systems, copiers, fax, and use of computer systems including database entry, word processing, spreadsheets, and other software applicationsAnswer telephones and direct calls to appropriate staff

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent required2 years clerical experience in a medical field preferredMinimum of 6 months customer service experience requiredKnowledge of medical terminology preferredDemonstrated ability to communicate effectively with patients, physicians, hospital personnel, and other support agencies, and strong customer service skills required
