**Position Summary**
WSP is seeking a skilled and experienced **Information Protection Specialist** to implement and operate **Data Loss Prevention tools, processes, and practices using Microsoft tools (Purview)** . The Information Protection Specialist will have the opportunity to enhance and optimize data protection controls in a leading global organization, while also driving compliance with data protection regulations to help us maintain the highest standards of information security. This role can be based out of **any of our WSP USA offices** .
**The Opportunity**
Technical and Operational
+ Implement and manage information protection strategies using Microsoft Purview.
+ Develop, enforce, and maintain data classification and labeling policies and practices to ensure sensitive information is properly protected.
+ Monitor and respond to information protection incidents, ensuring timely resolution and mitigation.
+ Conduct regular audits and assessments of information protection controls and policies.
+ Collaborate with IT and security teams to integrate information protection measures into existing systems and workflows.
+ Provide training and support to employees on information protection best practices and policies.
+ Identify gaps in current solution (e.g., MS Purview), identify additional tooling required.
+ Configure solution to enable automated and manual sensitive data labelling for M365 apps and services (incl. configuring mail flow rules).
+ Prioritize and onboard data sources for scanning (e.g., structured, unstructured data across applications, databases, file shares, cloud storage).
+ Stay updated on the latest trends and developments in information protection and data security.
Leadership and People
+ Develop positive working relationships with other team members and business partners and partners across teams to align with WSPs internal and external client demands.
+ Provide feedback on the governance process for continued improvement.
Finance and Budgetary
+ Provide feedback on tooling and identify additional needs.
+ Plan for expanse of security tools to cover ongoing needs.
+ Evaluation of license usage and potential growth.
**What You’ll Bring to WSP**
+ Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, data sciences, or related field. Or equivalent years of relevant experience.
+ At least 5 to 7 years of experience in a similar related position.
+ Solid experience developing and implementing Information Protection practices using Microsoft Purview. Related experience with other Data Loss Prevention tools, e.g. Digital Guardian, Titus, Boldon James, Varonis etc. would be considered an advantage as well.
+ Knowledge of information and data security regulations and ability to apply their relevance to WSP.
+ Familiarity with machine learning concepts is a plus.
+ Familiarity or knowledge of IT Governance frameworks (COBIT, ITIL and ISO 2700x, NIST etc.), and governance, compliance, audit, and management of risk (analysis, mitigation, and monitoring) within IT environments would be a plus.
**What Sets You Apart**
+ Master’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Cyber Security, Engineering, data sciences, or related field.
+ Microsoft data analyst associate certification, Data+ or equivalent.

**Expected Salary (all locations):** $83,200 - $145,530
WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and offer for this position, based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location. WSP USA reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant’s sex or other status protected by local, state, and/or federal law.
