Job Summary

The Online Student Success Manager enhances student engagement and success for a global population of adult learners in an online environment. You will develop and manage strategic programs like academic success coaching, peer-to-peer learning groups, academic skills workshops, and early intervention initiatives. As a member of the Online Programs Team, this role is dedicated to enhancing the academic experience and outcomes for students enrolled in the online Master of Applied Data Science program.


You will grow in a hybrid, collaborative work environment, demonstrating a commitment to working with an accomplished and diverse population of students, faculty, and staff. This is a new position at UMSI and reports to the Associate Director of Online Programs. 

*This is a two-year term-limited position.

Program Development and Management
 

Develop and manage academic support programs for online adult learners, including academic success coaching, peer-to-peer learning groups, and academic skills development workshops.Create and implement early intervention and outreach strategies for online learners facing academic challenges or needing additional support with technical skills. Collaborate with partners in Academic Programs and Student Life to define student success strategies and implement academic support programs.Collaborate with faculty to identify and support learners in course and program persistence.Evaluate and assess programs to ensure effectiveness and continuous improvement.
 

Academic Success Coaching
 

Provide academic success coaching for online learners through one-on-one appointments and group sessions.Support learners in creating goals and plans, developing individualized learning strategies, and navigating university resources.Develop and facilitate active learning sessions on topics such as time management, goal setting, learning strategies, and resource connection.

*You may oversee 1-5 temporary student employees.

Required Qualifications*Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education, certification, and experience in a related field.Two years experience in a related role coaching, advising, counseling, and coordinating programs for students.A history of establishing positive, respectful, and collaborative working relationships with a diverse population of students, staff, and faculty. Experience using data, including collecting, analyzing, and identifying trends, and making data-driven decisions.Work Schedule

Punctual and regular attendance is required. May require working during non-business hours and on weekends.

Work Locations

May require travel to multiple locations on and off campus. The main office workspace for this position is located in the UMSI Collegian Building.

Modes of Work
