Open Rank Faculty Position, Glass Science Engineering
The Inamori School of Engineering at Alfred University invites applications for two open rank tenure/tenure-track faculty appointments, one in Ceramic Engineering and one in Glass Science and Engineering. 

Salary: $85,000-$100,000 Annually

Requirements:The candidates must hold a PhD in Material Science and Engineering, Ceramic Engineering, Glass Science, Physics, Chemistry or closely related fieldThe successful candidates will be expected to develop a strong externally funded research program and a high-quality teaching portfolioCeramic Engineering:Candidates with expertise in the fields of ceramic processingCharacterization of oxide materials (particularly TEM and/or thermal)high-­temperature and/or hypersonic materials, ceramic biomaterials, computational materials science, and advanced ceramic manufacturing are encouraged to applyGlass Science & Engineering:Candidates with expertise in the areas of glass formulation, industrial melting, characterization of glass properties, chalcogenides, glass biomaterials, computational materials science, and photonics are encouraged to applyReview of applications will begin immediately targeting on-campus interviews in December/January for an August 2025 start date.
