Assistant/Associate Professor Tenure-Track (Open Rank) Higher Education Global Leadership Ruth S. Ammon College of Education and Health Sciences JOB SUMMARY: The School of Education in the Ruth S. Ammon College of Education and Health Sciences is currently seeking a tenured/tenure track faculty member, open rank at the Assistant Professor or Associate Professor in Higher Education Global Leadership starting fall 2025. This faculty member will be primarily dedicated to launching, leading, teaching, and researching in the Higher Education Global Leadership doctoral program. The Higher Education Global Leadership doctoral program offers an opportunity for Adelphi University to expand its footprint worldwide through a vibrant educational experience for emerging and existing higher education leaders. The overarching purpose of this program is to develop higher education leaders with an equity, social justice, and global perspective. Although much of the program is online, the doctoral experience includes partial, in-person classes in New York City during the summers. The program operates on a cohort-model with opportunities to engage in academic conferences, research labs, and international practicum experiences. RESPONSIBILITIES: The position is a unique opportunity to lead the Ruth S. Ammon College of Education and Health Sciences new Ph.D. in Higher Education Global Leadership and establish a truly world-class program that examines higher education from a global leadership perspective and associated organizational roles. The successful candidate will: + Program Relationship Building :Represent the program to both internal and external audiences, including build professional relationships with the institution and community members. + Admissions Process :Participate in admissions process from the programmatic operations side, provide guidance to faculty admissions committee, and communicate with prospective and admitted students. + Academic Advising :Offer regular and meaningful advising experiences for students in the program. + Curriculum Development and Continuous Improvement :Oversee curriculum development, instructional methods, and assessment tools to ensure the needs of the students and accreditation are met; facilitate course development and updates as needed in alignment with curriculum design and program goals. + Faculty Recruitment and Coordination :supervise all faculty recruitment and coordinate instructional coverage including schedules and on-boarding activities to the program approach. + Graduate Instruction :Teach graduate courses in the program commensurate with one’s expertise within the area of higher education global leadership. + Community of Scholars Leader :Prepare graduate students to attend an international/comparative higher education conference (e.g., Comparative and International Education Society) and mentor them while in attendance. + Student Learning Assessment :Participate in the student learning assessment and reporting processes. + Student Support Oversight :Lead new student orientation, coordinate with student services personnel and international student services offices as needed, and resolve (or facilitate the resolution) of student issues and requests requiring academic approval. + Programmatic Leadership :Direct all key operational areas of program delivery, support budget management with college leaders, and ensure the achievement of program metrics and outcomes. + Lead Campus Experiences :Lead and participate in the creation and implementation of in-person experiences for the program. + Dissertation Committees :Participate actively in doctoral student advising. A successful candidate may be considered for the program director role, which also includes an additional stipend and course release to support the leadership success of the academic program director. QUALIFICATIONS: + Earned doctoral degree in higher education, international/comparative education, educational leadership (with a secondary/tertiary focus), college student personnel, or a related field. + Maintain a track record of scholarship. + Demonstrate a strong record of collaboration. + Ability to cultivate and develop inclusive and equitable working relationships with students, faculty, staff and community members. SALARY INFORMATION: In compliance with New York’s Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for an Assistant Professor is this position is $76,000 - $78,000 and for an Associate Professor in this position $100,000 - $120,000. Adelphi University considers factors such as departmental budgets, scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. The above hiring range represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. An annual base salary higher than the range may be warranted in circumstances where a candidate has demonstrable equivalent prior higher education experience at another University.
