We are looking for a developer--focused OpenShift Engineer to join our global team of OpenShift/Kubernetes experts. In this role, you will work closely with application and DevOps teams, supporting them in onboarding applications into OpenShift and resolving issues related to builds and deployments from an OpenShift perspective. 

Your key areas of responsibilities will be: 

Application Onboarding Guide application and DevOps teams through the onboarding process, ensuring seamless integration of their applications into OpenShift environments. Develop and maintain documentation and best practices for application onboarding. Troubleshooting and Support Provide expert-level support for troubleshooting build and deployment issues. Analyze logs, configurations, and infrastructure components to identify and resolve issues efficiently. Collaborate with other teams to ensure the root cause of issues is addressed Collaboration and Enablement Act as a trusted advisor for application teams, promoting best practices and optimal use of OpenShift capabilities. Conduct training sessions, workshops, or knowledge-sharing initiatives to empower teams with OpenShift expertise. Continuous Improvement Identify areas for improvement in onboarding and support processes, driving enhancements to improve team efficiency and customer satisfaction. Stay updated with the latest trends and updates in OpenShift and Kubernetes ecosystems.

Ready to embark on the journey? Here’s what we are looking for:  

Experience with OpenShift and/or Kubernetes environments, including deployment of containerized applications.  Proficiency in troubleshooting application builds, deployments, and configurations within OpenShift.  Familiarity with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD) and their integration with OpenShift.  Customer-focused mindset with a passion for solving problems and enabling success.  Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python) for automation.  Understanding of networking, security, and monitoring in a Kubernetes/OpenShift context

Hi, my name is Ondrej Svoboda and I’m a looking for a new team member on behalf of our team. I started my career at DHL IT Services back in 2009, when I took a role as VMware administrator. Gaining more hands-on experience with Virtualization and Cloud has always fascinated me, so I moved to the architecture role of VMware and later Private Cloud. In 2016 I joined the team implementing OpenShift environment in IT Services. In 2019 I moved to a management role of the OpenShift team, taking care about our OpenShift baby. Together with the strong support of a multinational & diverse team, we are working on our common ambition – running globally the Container platform for DP DHL. Looking forward to having you onboard!
