Key Responsibilities:

Operate and maintain building electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, and emergency power systemsPerform preventive maintenance on electrical equipment and systems related to facility and power feeds to equipment.Troubleshoot and repair complex electrical issues pertaining to facility power and feeds.Conduct regular inspections of electrical systems to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulationsRead and interpret electrical schematics and blueprintsCollaborate with other engineers and technicians to maintain overall building systemsRespond to emergency situations and power outagesImplement energy-saving initiatives related to electrical systemsMaintain accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment performanceEnsure compliance with local, state, and federal electrical codesCapable installing power feeds from panels to new locationsWork with local power utilities companies to coordinate power issues and resolutions.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor’s degree in electrically  related field.Minimum 5 years of experience as an Operating Engineer with a strong focus on electrical systemsExtensive knowledge of electrical theory, systems, and safety practicesProficiency in using building automation systems and energy management softwareFamiliarity with HVAC, plumbing, and other building systemsStrong problem-solving and analytical skillsExcellent communication and teamwork abilitiesAbility to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and on-call rotations

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift and carry up to 50 poundsCapable of working in confined spaces and at heightsComfortable working in various environmental conditions

 

Certifications (preferred):

Valid Electrical license as required by the local jurisdictional OSHA 30-hour General Industry Safety and Health certification
