No weekends, Holidays or Call Summary: The Operating Nurse anticipates and fulfills the needs of the patients, coordinates activities in room, and communicates effectively with staff and others. He/she assures that documentation is appropriate, accurate, and complete. The Operating Nurse collaborates with other disciplines to revise the patient care plans according to changing patient needs. He/she also ensures individual skills are current by attending relevant education programs and maintaining status. Responsibilities: EDUCATION + Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing + Current registration as a Registered Professional Nurse in the State of New York + BSN strongly preferred + BLS Certification required EXPERIENCE + Two (2) years of acute care experience required + One (1) year of operating room experience or completion of a postgraduate perioperative program preferred KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY + Strong verbal and written communication skills + Computer skills + Ability to communicate with all levels of staff including physicians, etc. WORKING CONDITIONS: + The position required heavy physical demands of lifting, positioning patients and moving equipment + Works on a nursing unit and in patient rooms REQNUMBER: 35114
