Compensation: $150,000 – $200,000 + Signing Bonus + Paid Relocation
About the Role:
This is a leadership opportunity for an experienced and highly motivated Nurse Manager to oversee a busy and dynamic Operating Room department in West Los Angeles. The Nurse Manager will be responsible for the 24-hour operations of the OR, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, accessible, cost-effective, and patient-focused care. This includes developing and maintaining clinical standards of care and practice, managing resources and budgets, and leading a team of approximately 47 direct reports, including 13 OR RNs. The ideal candidate will be a strong leader with a proven track record in OR management, a commitment to patient safety, and a passion for fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
Responsibilities:
Oversee the daily operations of the Operating Room, ensuring efficient patient flow and adherence to established protocols. Manage a team of approximately 47 direct reports, including 13 OR RNs, providing leadership, mentorship, and professional development opportunities. Develop and manage the OR budget, including resource allocation, equipment procurement, and staffing. Develop, implement, and monitor clinical standards of care and practice, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient care and outcomes. Foster a culture of safety and quality improvement within the OR. Manage performance evaluations, disciplinary actions, and other HR-related matters for the OR staff. Address patient and physician concerns in a timely and professional manner. Participate in strategic planning and development for the OR. Maintain current knowledge of best practices in OR nursing and management.Department Details:
The OR performs approximately 1,100 cases per month. Surgical specialties include general surgery, ENT, GYN, robotic surgery, bariatric surgery, plastic & reconstructive surgery, orthopedics (including joint replacements and sports medicine), and gender reassignment surgery. Note: This location does not perform spine, heart, or neuro cases.Required Qualifications (Non-Negotiable):
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Minimum of 5 years of full-time equivalent Operating Room RN experience. Experience must be current or very recent. Ambulatory Surgery Center experience will not be accepted. Minimum of 3 years of full-time equivalent Operating Room Manager or Supervisor experience. Charge Nurse experience does not meet this requirement. Minimal Ambulatory Surgery Center experience may be accepted. Experience must be current or very recent.Preferred Qualifications:
