Coordinates the daily flow of surgical cases on respective shift. Coordinates nursing process for patients undergoing procedures performed in department. May function in circulating and/or scrub roles based on job knowledge and experience. **What you will do in this role:** + Assures departmental efficiency and organization by assuring case start time, minimizing delays, facilitating case turnover, utilizing all resources to maximum potential. + Participates in direct patient care activities as assigned and based on the needs of the department. + Supervises and manages the activities of the department during his/her respective shift + schedules emergency and/or add on surgical procedures as necessary. + Assigns personnel to care for patients based on experience, knowledge, and the needs of the department. + Ensures that environmental cleanliness and departmental organization is maintained through the appropriate delegation of tasks to staff. + Participates in the evaluation process for employees who regularly work under his/her direction + Reports problems/concerns in a timely manner. + Inputs laboratory orders into computer and obtains results from computer as necessary. + Keeps OR staff informed of changes in assignments. + Evaluates established and future surgery schedules daily to anticipate needs and anticipate any potential problems with equipment availability. + Anticipates the needs of all customers and communicates effectively. + Assists with the implementation and enforcement of hospital, nursing and departmental policies and procedures. **What qualifications you will need:** + Registered Nurse + Associate Degree + Basic Cardiac Life Support, or BCLS Instructor must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date + At least 3 year of experience as a OR RN + CNOR preferred TriStar Skyline Medical Center is a 250+ bed facility.
