Join us. **Job Description** AECOM GTA is seeking a skilled Operations & Maintenance Manager with expertise in passenger and freight rail to join our Transit & Rail Systems Team. This role offers the chance to collaborate with a multidisciplinary group to deliver impactful projects and advance industry standards. **About the Role:** + Plan, direct, and oversee moderately complex projects, ensuring high-quality outcomes, financial performance, and client satisfaction. + Serve as the primary client contact, managing technical, operational, and contractual aspects of projects. + Lead teams and subcontractors, providing guidance and ensuring adherence to best practices. **Key Responsibilities:** + Develop and optimize maintenance programs, including asset management strategies and reliability-centered maintenance for rail systems. + Collaborate with clients to identify and implement improvement opportunities in operations, maintenance, and revenue service readiness. + Provide technical expertise on specifications, design reviews, and governance throughout project phases. + Align operational and maintenance requirements with early project designs, addressing potential challenges proactively. + Oversee compliance with safety, regulatory, and quality standards, emphasizing Client requirements. + Lead technical workshops, interface discussions, and stakeholder coordination to resolve integration challenges. + Develop and implement commissioning, handover, and transition plans from project delivery to operations. + Analyze lessons learned and incorporate insights into future projects to improve outcomes. + Mentor and guide junior team members, promoting a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement. + Collaborate with the Client’s Operation Team and other groups to ensure new governance frameworks are effectively communicated and incorporated. + Analyze lessons learned from previous projects and work to integrate these insights into early design phases. + Identify and address potential operational challenges in collaboration with key stakeholders. + Act as the primary liaison with Client teams during the design phase to gather and align on operational and maintenance requirements. + Facilitate discussions on interface and integration needs, ensuring compatibility with existing Client systems and infrastructure. + Monitor compliance with Client standards, procedures, and expectations throughout project development. + Foster strong relationships with project partners, contractors, and internal teams to ensure clear communication and alignment on objectives. + Provide strategic advice to the client on operational and maintenance considerations for railway extensions. + Lead technical workshops and coordination meetings to resolve interface and integration challenges. + Support the Client in overseeing project delivery, ensuring alignment with operational and maintenance objectives. + Develop and implement strategies to mitigate risks related to operations and maintenance during project execution. + Prepare reports and presentations for senior management and stakeholders, highlighting progress and key decisions. + Ensure that operational and maintenance considerations are embedded into design specifications and documentation. + Review and approve designs to confirm compliance with operational requirements. + Coordinate with engineering and construction teams to validate the feasibility of proposed solutions. + Monitor project adherence to safety, regulatory, and quality standards, with a particular focus on Client compliance. + Conduct regular audits and inspections to verify that maintenance and operational needs are being addressed appropriately. + Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement. + Lead by example in promoting collaboration, innovation, and commitment to project success. **Qualifications** **Minimum Requirements:** + Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field; a Master’s degree is preferred. + At least 8 years of experience in operations and maintenance management within the transit or railway industry. + Valid driver’s license. **Preferred Qualifications:** + Master’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline. + Ideally, 30+ years of experience in passenger and freight rail. + Expertise in system assurance. + Design experience and deep knowledge of transit/rail projects are preferred. + Professional Engineer (P.Eng) designation. + Comprehensive understanding of CLIENT procedures, standards, and operational requirements. + Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects with multiple stakeholders. + Strong communication, negotiation, and leadership abilities. + Experience with system interface and integration in railway or transit environments. + Familiarity with project delivery models and governance frameworks in large infrastructure projects. **Additional Information** Sponsorship for Canadian employment authorization is not available for this position Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications.
