Work Location: Atlanta, GA (100% onsite, no remote work) - This position will support 3 Emory Hospitals in DeKalb County with a primary office at Emory Decatur Hospital. 

Description Responsible for supporting the development, implementation, and optimization of healthcare systems and processes within our organization Coordinate with service line and operating unit leaders to identify and provide resources to support the organization's process improvement prioritiesProvide timely communication to Operational Excellence Engineering leaders, service line, and operating unit leaders in work areas as assignedWork collaboratively with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for improvement, optimize processes, reduce waste, enhance patient outcomes, and ultimately contribute to the delivery of high-quality healthcare services through application of Engineering practicesFacilitates and guides redesign teams and process improvement teamsResponsible for designing the approach to collecting, organizing, and analyzing dataLead departments with intermediate lean concepts such as standard work, process mapping, and value stream thinkingExercise daily problem solving techniques and approaches as well as leading lean events such as A3 Teams and Rapid Improvement eventsUnderstanding of Takt time, lead time, cycle time, relationship of metrics to improvement work Utilizes a systems methodology to analyze organizational systems and processes, to make recommendations for operation improvements and to coordinate the implementation of changes, working through individual and team approachesUtilize data analytics and performance metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of healthcare systems and processes and make data-driven recommendations for improvement Assists in analysis of facility needs including work flow analysis, space programming, and functional layout design Assists departments in analyzing operational and clinical data using statistical tools including process control charts and trend analysisAbility to pull data from data repositories and create useful information for project teamsProven experience with manipulating large data sets in ExcelVerifies, updates, and analyzes comparative databases containing operational and clinical data to support hospital benchmarking efforts Responsible for coaching departmental staff in the adoption basic and intermediary quality tools and strategies such as Lean and Six Sigma to develop internal improvement infrastructureExperience presenting to large groups or varied levels of staffAssists departmental management or teams throughout the project process and during implementation of recommended changes by preparing detailed work plans and identified milestones for completion Acts as a project leader responsible for the successful planning, scheduling, and completion of multiple improvements projects Coordinate with Operational Excellence Engineering leadership prior to the initiation of projects to provide state of the art approaches and solutions to problems Coordinates and supervises the work of a project team including but not limited to assigning activities to team membersWorks collaboratively with department director on status of projects and completion dates for milestones As needed, generates and prepares reports based on customer needsProven experience with Office365 including Planner, Forms, and MS Teams Use of Process Improvement software such as Visio and/or LucidchartExposure to PowerAutomate, PowerBI, and Business Visualization Software

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

BS - Industrial and Systems Engineering (or related field) 4-8 years of Process Improvement experience in Manufacturing and/or Healthcare environmentsSix Sigma Green Belt, Lean, or similar certification Familiarity with common SPC software (Minitab, SPSS, R, etc.) Familiarity with healthcare operations, regulations, and quality standards preferredExcellent written and oral communication and inter-personal skills Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
