Eaton’s ES AMER ARS division is currently seeking a Operational Excellence Manager. This position will be based at our facility in Sumter, SC. The position is offering relocation assistance.
The expected annual salary range for this role is $123750.0 - $181500.0 a year. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program.

As the OpEx Manager at our Sumter campus, you will own and lead the Manufacturing Engineering, Facilities, and Continuous Improvement engineering functions. You will play a pivotal role in shaping our site's operational strategy, driving productivity projects, and advancing our Eaton Business System maturity levels.
What You'll Do:
• Lead and Inspire: Oversee the Manufacturing Engineering, Facilities Management, and Continuous Improvement engineering teams of 18+, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
• Strategic Planning: Develop and execute site operational footprint plans to support Eaton Sumter’s growth, manufacturing, and Industry 4.0 advancement objectives.
• Drive Innovation: Support new product development with manufacturing feasibility and industrialization activities including production layout and material flow.
• Collaborate and Train: Work closely with cross-functional teams to develop, train, and lead improvement event using methodologies like Kaizen, A3, Lean, and BPS.
• Drive Maturity: Lead planning and execution of activities to enhance results on Eaton’s Operating Assessment (OpA) manufacturing maturity process.
• Achieve Savings: Develop and implement projects to meet the site’s cost savings and productivity goals.
• Promote Safety: Champion a Zero Safety Incident culture through cultural, behavioral, and engineering improvements to prevent employee injuries.
• Manage CapEx: Own the CapEx profit plan and oversee the execution of key projects across the campus.
• Advance I4.0: Lead the site’s Industry 4.0 roadmap, leveraging digital tools and automation to enhance decision-making, safety, quality, and productivity.
• Plan Capacity: Manage installed capacity planning and execution as part of the SIOP process to ensure machine and layout capacities align with the profit plan.
• Enhance Aesthetics: Drive projects to maintain strong site aesthetics and visual controls across the manufacturing site, including exterior, office, and shop floor areas.
• Support Sustainability: Lead initiatives to improve energy efficiency in line with Eaton’s 2030 GHG reduction goals.
• Design and Innovate: Lead the design, development, and revision of workstation designs, method sheets, work instructions, and manufacturing aids.

Required (Basic) Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of 5 years in manufacturing
• Minimum 2 years managing people or project teams in manufacturing facilities.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Fabrication & Assembly Expertise: Skills and experience with sheet metal fabrication, copper/aluminum fabrication, and/or assembly operations.
• High Mix / CTO / ETO: Experience working in high-mix environments to optimize quality, delivery, inventory, and productivity with high variation in the cells.
• Facilities Management: Proven experience in managing facilities.
• Quality Certifications: Certified Quality Engineer or Certified Quality Manager certificate.
• Six Sigma: Certified Six Sigma Greenbelt.
• Big Picture Thinking with Execution Skills: Ability to see the big picture, creating a vision of manufacturing excellence and translating it into strategic plans and effective execution.
• Communication Skills: Effective written and verbal communication and teaching skills.
• Manufacturing Tools Proficiency: Demonstrated proficiency with Lean, Six-Sigma, and problem-solving/decision-making tools.
• Leadership and Collaboration: Proven ability to lead and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to support customer and manufacturing requirements.
• Influence: Ability to influence without authority.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency with AutoCAD.
