Under the management of the Regional Supply Planning Director, the Regional Operational Planning Manager will be accountable for delivering the OPR supply plan for the region: ensuring a balanced short and medium-term plan (production and inventory) for North America production facilities as well as for subcontractors. This to ensure availability of products serving our customers on time and in full at the lowest cost possible. The Operational Planning Manager will directly lead a team of senior planners, expanding from the retained organization into the GBS (Global Business Services) organization.
The Operational Planning Manager will be responsible for conducting the weekly S&OE process, working closely with key business stakeholders within and outside of CSD (Customer Supply and Development). They will further engage and influence S&OE stakeholders, coordinating follow-up actions and implementing decisions.
Additionally, the Operational Planning Manager will participate in key initiatives and projects to support continuous improvement.
Key responsibilities include:
Lead a team of senior OPR planners in order to prepare and conduct the S&OE process for North America Lead the solid and liquid teams of operational planners within GBS, to develop an operational supply plan Accountable to delivering production plans across sites with optimal use of network, asset utilization, stock levels and maximized customer satisfaction Work with the local planning teams to execute the plans prepared by the Supply planning team Drive allocation of production volumes to factories in the network, managing conflicting interests within operations (cost vs service) Shape/confirm factories manning requirements for operational horizon Consolidate and report on Regional supply plan Ensure feasibility of the plan with regard to downstream constraints and resolve issues in collaboration with sourcing and cocoa Conduct the CSD handshake (pre-S&OE) to ensure alignment across CSD departments Accountable for getting the supply plan approved by the Planning managers at the plants Coordinate resolution of escalated SC gaps in the plan, influencing / convincing stakeholders where required Bring unsolvable issues to the relevant decision forum (as part of S&OE) Responsible to conduct S&OE with the right content to trigger the right actions Follow-up on actions resulting from the S&OE meetings and ensure implementation of decisions impacting supply Challenge and guide the OPR planning team about asset utilization, feasibility of the plan, volume allocation, KPI performance Ensure operational plans are consistent with tactical guidance, and feed tactical manager with operational updates Ensure the operational plan meets inventory targets and stock build ambitions Work with the Inventory Manager on developing and implementing strategies for optimizing inventory levels across warehouses Monitor and analyze supply chain performance metrics Review and update supply network model and processes to ensure cost-efficiency Establish and maintain relationships with production and distribution sites to ensure cost-effectiveness and quality Collaborate as Supply Chain representative in the assigned projects relating to the responsible plants or subcontractors (such as new production lines, new product implementations…) Travel requirements: 20% Scope: Operational Planning Horizon 🡪 W2-W17 Regional Chocolate Supply Planning network (CA, US and MX) including Sweets plants S&OE
About you:
Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field APICS Certification preferred Spanish fluency is a nice to have Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in a Supply Chain function, preferably in a manufacturing environment 3 years of experience in similar position Leadership skills and experience in managing large team, both with direct and indirect reports Excellent problem solving and analytical skills Knowledge of supply chain management principles and practices, specifically the integrated supply planning process. Excellent communication and presentation skills Process Oriented Ability to influence/convince multiple stakeholders and cross-functional teams (Sales, Finance, Manufacturing) Ability to bring consensus and make decisions “Can Do” attitude – Issue solving mindset Agility / deal with ambiguity and ever-changing context Prioritize to results - ability to identify and focus on the actions that will deliver results Holistic approach to decision making, considering multiple factors and stakeholders
