Through coordination with the Chief Financial Officer, Finance and Compliance functions, the Operational Risk Coordinator will assure that identified areas of operational, business and compliance risk of the Avera Insurance Division receive audit coverage based upon an analysis of their relative risk. Operations audit coverage will include compliance with internal policies, processes, controls, governmental guidelines and laws as well as assessing reporting accuracy and operational efficiency. The Operational Risk Coordinator will develop and manage reporting to communicate on the operational control environment, control gaps and results of audits.
The Operational Risk Coordinator will periodically present to the Insurance Division Strategy Council and Insurance Division Communication (IDC) meeting the results from process and controls monitoring and audit, significant reviews and projects completed. In addition, at least once each year, the Operations Risk Coordinator will meet with the Avera Insurance Division Compliance Committee to discuss the operations audit plan and any and assessment of the effectiveness of the overall system of operational process and controls and the operations audit function.
Education and/or Experience
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business or related field required A minimum of five years of experience within either the healthcare insurance industry in an audit, accounting or finance related position, or in public accounting. A comparable combination of education and additional appropriate experience may be substituted.Certifications/Licensure/Registrations
This position requires a valid driver’s license and that the employee is insurable by the Avera Health automobile liability insurance carrier.Work Schedule
