Wealth Management Operational Risk

Wealth Management Operational Risk sits within the 1st line of defense and is responsible for overseeing the operational risk and control framework across the Wealth Management business. This team partners with key stakeholders throughout the organization to execute independent risk monitoring functions, support process and control improvement, provide tactical and strategic reporting, execute incident management protocols, facilitate issue and action plan management and coordinate new operational risk programs in partnership with the business as well as 2nd Line of Defense business partners.

WM Growth Monitoring Analyst – Assistant Vice President

This role on the Growth Monitoring Team entails a range of responsibilities in a team environment, focused on monitoring for business growth trends and resulting risk stressors requiring management attention in the Wealth Management business. Specific duties will include:

Identifying trends and anomalies in growth metrics and against thresholds – incl. evaluating the impact of ‘Completed’ New Product Approvals and Internal Audit findingsCoordinating with key stakeholders to ensure collection and maintenance of metrics from organizations throughout Wealth ManagementDeveloping and maintaining management focused informational materials and key risk indicator dashboardsPreparing comprehensive growth monitoring reports for Wealth Management governance reportingMonitoring remedial action progress and reporting status updates to leadership forumsFacilitating the review and calibration of existing growth metrics, baselines and thresholds vis-à-vis risk appetite and organizational growth objectivesSoliciting feedback from stakeholders to enhance the effectiveness of the Growth Monitoring FrameworkIdentifying opportunities for process optimization and automation#LI-AJ1

A successful candidate will be able to support a variety of operational risk management initiatives and must be able to manage changing priorities, make sound decisions, complete their assignments and proactively communicate where there are potential risks to the Firm. Attention to detail and accuracy is critical, given the executive audience for much of the team’s work. A candidate needs to be collaborative and able to build effective working relationships with all levels across the organization.

· Minimum 5 years of risk management experience within financial services, preferably within the Operational Risk, Non-Financial Risk, or Internal Audit discipline

· Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task, prioritize, work under pressure and to tight deadlines

· Solid professional and interpersonal skills, including written and verbal communication

· Ability to work well within a team

· Ability to build / maintain a network of contacts, and coordinate with many stakeholders

· Proficient with Microsoft Office suite, emphasis in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills (critical thinking ability)

· Bachelor’s degree required
