Focus: The Operational Technology Applications Specialist is responsible for the development and support of shop floor data collection systems that enhance production reporting and equipment performance visualization that contribute to improved operational efficiency in manufacturing. This role requires a blend of IT and OT technical expertise, from creating web applications to PLC equipment design and integration with the ICS network.
Operational Technology Applications Specialist Essential Job Functions: Automated Data Capture: Design and implement systems that automate the collection of critical data, including production rates, machine uptime, downtime reasons, and part counts. Technical Support and Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams including IT, Engineering, and Operations to gather requirements and deliver effective solutions while providing ongoing support for OT applications, databases, networks, and servers. Web Application Development: Design, develop, and maintain interactive web applications using ASP.NET Core, SignalR, and ReactJS to support operational technology initiatives. Database Administration: Manage and optimize Microsoft SQL Server databases, including performance tuning, backup, recovery, and security management. Network and Server Administration: Perform tasks including configuring network hardware (routers, switches), server maintenance, and troubleshooting issues. Operational Technology Applications Specialist Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's Degree* in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, or related field. Recent full-time or co-op experience in a manufacturing setting. Minimum of six (6) months experience in software development with a focus on ASP.NET Core, ReactJS, web application development, and Microsoft SQL Server management; Network and Server administration experience preferred. Ability to understand networking concepts such as routing protocols, server configuration, and network security. Excellent analytical skills with the ability to communicate effectively and troubleshoot complex technical issues effectively. Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment while managing multiple projects simultaneously. PLC control system experience preferred.
