For this exciting position, we are specifically targeting students who have a background in Networking, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or anything equivalent. The successful individual in this position will have the opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience and learn about networking monitoring tools, equipment configuration, and systems used by various teams at Teck. Depending on the needs and location of the team, you will need to work PDT or MDT or relocate to a specific office (site-based). You must also currently be a student enrolled in a Canadian post-secondary institution and will be enrolled throughout the duration of the co-op term (you will also be returning back to the post-secondary institution once the co-op term is completed). Proof of a valid work permit will also be required, if applicable.

Salary Range: $3900 - $4900 / Month
Salary is commensurate with the number of academic semesters and prior co-op experiences completed.
Responsibilities
Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures Ability to use network monitoring tools to acquire key performance indicators (KPIs) of a live network Create automated KPI reports from monitoring tool applications Conduct basic network equipment configuration, and testing Familiarity with ServiceNow, assist to log, change, and assign tickets Assist the team in project execution on site Site engagement multiple days per week Documentation of network devices, configurations, and others Creation diagrams of networks, connections, and other devices Engage with technology such as LTE/4G, 5G, 802.11, WiFi 6, and other new network related technologies Qualifications
Currently enrolled in Networking, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field Able to integrate with the team and driven to learn Good interpersonal skills, with the ability to efficiently connect with diverse team members Ability to learn and use tools Able to work efficiently independently as well as part of the team Proven ability to learn innovative technologies and platforms quickly, accurately, and efficiently Capacity to communicate with precision in a technical environment Able to articulate complex concepts clearly and in a way a diverse audience would understand Basic knowledge of coding language (server admin, SQL, python, Power BI) is an asset Cisco networking fundamentals is a big asset A valid Class 5 or equivalent drivers license is strongly preferred Openness to travel when required About Teck
