Operational Technology (OT) Cybersecurity Engineer
Job Description Job Summary: As a technical specialist in OT Network and OT/IT Security, you'll play a key role in the energy transition. You'll work with a motivated team to design communication networks and security concepts for our power transmission systems (FACTS and HVDC). Your job is to ensure smooth communication between control and protection devices. To protect our systems better, you'll look for ways to deceive and bypass potential threats, ask tough questions, and find hidden vulnerabilities. You'll also clarify how our systems connect with others (interfaces to subsystems and customer networks) and oversee the implementation of IT security standards in our projects. Day to Day:   Design cybersecurity solutions for energy transmission systems.   Use your OT/IT security knowledge to protect critical infrastructure.   Help design, implement, test, and integrate security solutions for customers.   Analyze customer needs and develop matching security solutions.   Stay updated on technical developments and trends in OT/IT security.   Conduct threat and risk analyses and define countermeasures.   Create technical specifications and documents based on customer requirements and standards.   Configure and commission communication components and virtual environments.   Provide evidence of IT security measures, including hardening, penetration testing, and risk assessment.   Support commissioning and after-sales teams with troubleshooting, customer clarifications, and warranty activities. Skills and Requirements Bachelor's degree in either of the following:    network/communication technology, computer science/Automation technology, electrical engineering, or similar with a focus on IT security.   3+ years' experience of operational security experience in the field of OT/IT networks or security for control systems or large automation systems. *Candidates with more experience can be considered for a higher level*   Knowledge of NERC CIP required   Basic knowledge in the field of energy infrastructure.   Expertise in configuring and troubleshooting relevant Switches, Routers, Firewalls, and other network devices from manufacturers like Cisco, RUGGEDCOM, Checkpoint, Fortinet, etc.   Theoretical know-how of TCP/IP, routing, switching, network separation, zone concepts, redundancy mechanisms, encryption concepts, system hardening, etc.   Hands on OT networking experience in an industrial setting (factory, plant operations, utilities)   Hands-on programming set up experience    Example: Uploading setting to devices Knowledge of relevant regulations and standards in the field of cybersecurity preferred (e.g. IEC 62443, NERC CIP, BDEW Whitepaper, ISO27001)..   Power systems knowledge - experience working within utilities or utilities provider   Ability and willingness to travel for business, as needed. null We are a company committed to creating diverse and inclusive environments where people can bring their full, authentic selves to work every day.
