Operations Administrative Assistant
Shifts:
Peak Season: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 8am - 6:00pm (sometimes nights and works weekends on occasion)
October - Mid May: Monday - Friday 8:00am - 500pm
Job Description:
This position is responsible for answering and/or responding to all inbound calls from customers and dispatching drivers to ensure all deliveries are made in a quick and efficient manner. In addition, the position coordinates and maintains the dock area and maintenance of all vehicles.
Salary: $22-$23/hour DOE
Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Responsible for correspondence with customers and dispatch drivers. Responds to email requests and orders in a professional and timely manner. Communicates with drivers on day-to-day assignments. Builds base routes for drivers. Maintains handheld invoicing system. Coordinates the dock area involving the loading of trucks, shipping, and receiving. Evaluates the availability of trucks for ice delivery as well as for repairs and maintenance. Reviews driver logs and vehicle inspection reports and monitors adherence and compliance based on metric reporting. Supports DOT compliance and other safety initiatives. Receives merchandiser repair calls and dispatches service technicians. Additional duties may be assigned.Candidate Qualifications:
1 to 2 years’ experience working in a distribution environment. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Basic math and cash handling skills. Ability to work independently as well as in a team setting. Comfortable with a fast-paced environment and ability to shift focus to meet client needs. Must be comfortable working with handheld units. Working knowledge in Microsoft Office products, including Excel and Outlook. Must be available to work evenings, weekends, holidays.CORE COMPETENCIES
