Position: Operations Agent Compensation: $25-$29 per hour Job Description: The Operations Agent will manage transportation for a handful of Omni’s key accounts and provide the customer with unmatched service from the initial quote to the delivery. Omni is all about the customer experience, so we have a dedicated operations agent assigned to manage each customer, creating a mutually beneficial relationship. Daily tasks include quoting customers, pulling inventory, booking shipments, tracking and tracing, and invoicing. The Operations Agent can dynamically route to maximize margins on each shipment handled. We work in a team atmosphere, so all operators are cross trained in customer accounts. The sales team, warehouse staff, and operators work together to meet our customer’s ever-changing and evolving needs. Core Responsibilities & Duties: + Responds to customer inquiries and maintain customer accounts according to specific guidelines and procedures + Research information to solve customer service problems + Document and record monthly activities for period end reporting + Provide work coverage for other employees’ absences when necessary + Invoice shipments + Compile reports and provide support to other staff members + Resolve customer issues by investigating transactions, developing solutions, and making recommendations to management + Work in conjunction with sales and management to establish, implement, and maintain client specific needs + Ensure compliance with Transportation Security Administration (TSA) and local & federal regulations + Provide and process rate quotes and service orders for shipments while maintaining customer satisfaction + Daily contact with vendors to obtain pricing, tracking, and bookings + Daily monitoring of shipment status + Other duties as assigned Job Requirements & Qualifications: + General understanding of excel functions and how to manage email rules within Microsoft Outlook + Two to three years of Domestic Freight Forwarding experience required + Knowledge of customer service practices and administrative procedures + Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask + Proficient in the use of standard office software applications + Excellent verbal and written communication skills + Exemplary customer service skills are required + Ability to work cooperatively with others at all levels of the organization + Ability to work with minimal supervision + Knowledge of warehouse management system SAP is a plus What We Offer: + Competitive base salary + Paid time off within the first year of employment, sick time and holidays + Company provided life insurance + Health, vision, and dental insurance options + Commuter benefit plan + Optional supplemental life insurance + 401(k) + Wellness program + A great place to work with a terrific culture About Us Since 1990, Forward Air has been a leading provider of ground transportation and related logistics services to the North American air freight and expedited LTL market.
