GENERAL STATEMENT:
This is an independent and complex administrative position assisting management as well as other support staff with administrative support functions required for daily operation of the Boating & Waterways Section (within the Division of Law Enforcement. Works independently to assist staff with a variety of administrative tasks / functions which are often complex in nature.
The position provides administrative support to the Captain and Lieutenant and works with external agencies / staff and stakeholders. Responsible for handling correspondence, E-mails, and telephone calls on own initiative.
The incumbent serves as liaison to the Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles and provides support to Commission staff regarding vessel title fraud, vessel title/registration investigations, and the Uniform Certificate of Title for Vessels Act. Will develop training materials relating to vessel title fraud, vessel title/registration investigations, and the Uniform Certificate of Title for Vessels Act.
Assists staff in development of materials for Commission meetings, public workshops, and other responsibilities of the Boating Safety Unit. Will also assist in completing the annual Boating Accident Statistical Report.
Travel as needed to assist in delivering training related to vessel title fraud and vessel title/registration investigations, and to assist in public workshops and meetings.
Responsible for maintaining and updating web pages relating to the Boating Safety Unit. Responsible for coordinating the order, purchase, and dissemination of items and publications related to the unit.
Assist with records management within the unit in accordance with records retention requirements.
Knowledge, skills and abilities, including utilization of equipment, required for the position:
+ Knowledge of using Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Outlook and Adobe Pro.
