Operations Analyst (Global Meeting Services) - Temporary (Spanish and/or Portuguese Fluency)

ISS is hiring! Our Global Meeting Services (GMS) team seeks to hire an analyst in Rockville, MD during the spring annual meeting season, starting in Feb 2025 for a term ending in May 2025 (there could be some fluctuation in start and end dates). Mandatory verbal and written fluency in Spanish and/or Portuguese, and English. Proficiency and working knowledge of other languages is considered a plus, kindly make mention when applying.

The Global Meeting Services team provides data support and services covering markets worldwide. The team continuously monitors and obtains relevant information on all upcoming corporate action events specifically shareholders meetings where topics such as acquisitions, mergers and demergers, election of directors and auditors might be discussed. The relevant meeting results are also collected. The information collected is accurately inputted in the database and this will be generated for clients to see. Collected information is also used by other teams for further data collection and research for the ultimate issuance of ISS Vote Recommendations.

Responsibilities:

The Global Meeting Services Analyst position is accountable for:

Identifying, understanding, and implementing daily monitoring of market regulatory sources for meeting informationAccurate English translation of financial and/or legal terms in Spanish and/or Portuguese and timely creation of meeting in the ISS’ proprietary databaseProcuring relevant meeting documentation (ex. Notice of the Meeting, Information Circular, Proxy Form, Annual Report, and other Corporate Governance documents) by monitoring stock exchange websites and contacting companies or issuers overseas by email or phone to ensure the most appropriate information is at hand…Analyze agenda items and harmonize them into the ISS standard code list.Collection and accurate entry of vote results for every meeting covered when disclosed as per defined market regulations.Assist in the mapping of crawler procured and 3rd party provider materials to the ISS meeting.Review and respond to internal enquiries related to meeting coverage for the market in a timely manner.Review and scan of physical mails received for US meetings and coordinate the notification with Americas team.Participate in other projects as assigned.

Requirements:

Verbal and written fluency in Spanish and/or Portuguese, and English is mandatory. If proficiency in other languages, please make mention when applying.Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or any equivalent/related course or an Associate’s degree with two or more years of related work experienceStrong communication skills with knowledge and experience in MS Office (Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word)Ability to utilize critical thinking to solve problems independently and accuratelyAbility to work within a team-oriented environment and under tight deadlinesStrong organizational skills with attention to detailFlexibility to work the extended hours on weekdays, holidays and on weekend as needed during market seasonMust be commutable to work out of our Rockville, MD office

Additional Information

Work Schedule: This role requires the individual to be in the office 5-days per week (Monday through Friday).Peak Season: During peak season (mid-March through April), overtime may be requested, which can include evenings or weekends.Payroll and Benefits: The payroll provider for this position is through a third party, so ISS STOXX benefits are not applicable. Benefits may be available through the third-party provider after an eligibility period; please inquire for more details.

Location Options

Rockville, MD: Located within one mile of the Shady Grove Red Line metro station, with free shuttle service between the metro and office, ample free parking and an onsite gym.

Compensation: The pay for this position in Rockville, MD, is $25.00 per hour.

Employment Type: Full-time, 40 hours per week, with overtime eligibility (subject to manager approval).
