Operations Analyst I

Working in a small Operations unit responsible for Governance and Control. The candidate must demonstrate competence in auditing and control of processes in the wealth management environment, analyzing complex issues, and providing recommendations.  Tasks involve the use of electronic interfaces, accounting skills, and interaction with internal staff and external vendors at a professional level.

 

Responsibilities

Monitor and test audit controls, including SOX controls. Review findings and observations with management. Document and track the identified issues to resolution. Prepare and validate management and regulatory reports (Examples: Client Retention Analysis, Net Flows, Reg O, RC-T reporting, Overdraft Review).                                              Analyze and combine large volumes of data from multiple sources using Excel and/or using the report writing tools.  Calculate and track sale incentives.   Manage assigned projects, improve efficiency, create and execute test scenarios. Create and update procedures. As needed, provide training to the staff of the Wealth Management department.  Maintain application and vendor relationship, including answering various security questionnaires, generate and/or review user access, review and test changes made to the applications, perform user access maintenance.  Assist other Wealth Management departments, as well as other departments within the bank, with inquiries and questions. 

Problem Solving & Decision Making

Implementation of poorly designed functionality can result in significant cost, both in dollars and reputation.  The incumbent must be highly motivated and committed to quality, as the position involves the constant exercise of discretion and independent judgment.   

REQUIREMENTS: 

Education and Experience 

Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred and/or 3 to 5 years of business experience in a wealth operations or trust administration position.     

 

Skills/Knowledge 

Proficient PC skills with in-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office, proven ability to understand complex concepts, read system and regulatory documentation, and communicate effectively with team.  Knowledge of Operations; rudimentary understanding of account administration, investment, and tax processing. The ability to solve complex problems, communicate information and ideas to others. Must have strong attention to details and be able to exchange accurate information. Knowledge of SOX controls or Standardized Control framework. Experience in working in a regulated or audited environment is a plus. Report writing experience using SQL, BOXI, or other report writing tools strongly preferred. Individual should be a self-starter and deadline driven. Ability to work with little supervision. Strong teamwork mentality with a high degree of flexibility and adaptability.

 Working Conditions 

Primarily work-from-home with requirement to work in the office as required and determined by management.
