About this opportunity:

Cenovus is looking for an Operations Area Superintendent for our Superior, WI, refinery. The Operations Area Superintendent in the Crude area is responsible for ensuring the safe, reliable and optimum operations of the assigned areas. This position is responsible for equipment reliability within the Crude area and is the Subject Matter Expert for the applicable units.  This position is a leader within Operations at the Superior Refinery and will be required to work effectively with colleagues and have strong technical knowledge.

What you’ll do:

Responsible for ensuring the safe, reliable, and optimum operations of the assigned areas.Health, Safety and Environmental compliance management.Develop, improve and maintain area operating procedures; identify barriers to process improvement and develop strategy for improvement.Coordinate/manage unit turnaround planning and execution efforts and maintenance work prioritization.Identify gaps in skills and training of current employees and develop plans to address in coordination with training department.Manage area’s Process Safety Management elements, HAZOP (hazardous operations), and other similar activities.Maintain expertise and act as first responder to critical issues in the area.Responsible for daily Operational goals, objectives, communication, and budget management.

Who you are:

High School Diploma or equivalentMinimum of 10 years of refinery operations experienceTechnical expertise of applicable area

Preferred:

Associates or Bachelor's degreeAdditional refinery operations or related education and/or experienceSupervisory refinery operations experienceStrong verbal and written communication skillsAbility to work independently or as part of a teamCapable of working successfully with all levels of the organizationCommitted to working safely
