General position summary:

This role will have responsibilities of monitoring and tracking shipments to ensure delivery dates are met    

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Assist in monitoring and tracking shipment status to ensure delivery dates are metUpdate database with notes regarding changes and communications – weights, dates, addresses changes, etcEffectively communicate with agents and customers via telephone and email regarding status of shipmentConfer with all parties involved to expedite or locate missing, misrouted, or delayed household shipmentsAssist with sending required documentation and paperwork to the bases  Additional administrative tasks including data entry and phonesOvertime is required during peak seasonOther duties as assigned

Education & Experience:

Associates business degree preferred; one year + experience in related customer service, transportation, logistic industry or equivalent combination of education and experience.

TRAVEL:

No travel required.

Language Skills:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.Ability to write routine reports.Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Operations:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and knowledge of social networking

Ability to prioritize and re-prioritize as situations and needs change throughout the workdayAbility to multi-task and organize workflow to manage daily responsibilities, meet deadlines and prioritize work
