Techstars is looking for a Startup Community Operations Associate based in Los Angeles to assist the successful delivery of Techstars Startup Community Programs with our partner, University of Southern California (USC).
As a Startup Community Operations Associate, you will help build the next amazing batch of startups, as they grow from early stage to venture-backed companies. From entrepreneurs to investors to mentors, you’ll get to know the best entrepreneurial network, up close and personal. You will also have access to full involvement in Techstars social events with the founders and local community.
General Job Description
This role is responsible for the administrative duties and operational execution throughout the duration of our Startup Community (aka pre-accelerator) programs with USC. You will own program timelines and be responsible for ensuring program deliverables. This role is customer facing and requires the ability to organize information, capture data, and execute tasks quickly and with precision.
This is a full-time, hybrid contract position from March to December 2025 (primarily remote, with up to 10% travel required using personal transportation). Must be located in the Los Angeles Metropolitan Area. This contract role is dependent on our continued partnership with USC.
Duties and Responsibilities
Proactively manage multiple Startup Community projects simultaneously including planning activities, meetings and events that drive founder success Plan programs and events that meet satisfaction metrics and are executed in an efficient, accurate and swift manner Coordinate the scheduling of mentors, corporate partners, founders, and sponsors in a timely and efficient way Follow best practices and execute outlined content and curriculum of programs Drive continuous process improvement and maximize operational efficiency to contribute to a positive experience for founders and partners Represent Techstars remotely and at in-person programs and events, both actively and passivelyQualifications
2-3 years in fast-paced project or program management focused position within technology, startups, entrepreneurship and/or venture capital Strong interest in the discourse around startups and entrepreneurship Experience creating and managing project or program timelines and plans Strong attention to detail to ensure that program deliverables are executed at a high caliber, meeting the needs of founders and partners Experience in event planning and event logistics Comfortable with a variety of responsibilities, ambiguity and is solution driven Strong communication skills (verbal, written, and visual); fosters strong relationships with entrepreneurs and corporate partners to support a thriving startup culture Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university Founder experience and/or USC alum is a plus!Compensation Range: $4000-5000 Monthly
