OPERATIONS CLERK (POOLS/PROGRAMS COORDINATOR)
Summary About the position: This position is located at the Natatorium, Yokota AB Japan. This is Intermittent (Flexible) position, 0-40 hours a week. Responsibilities Performs a variety of duties, including, but not limited to: 1.Assists the Director in developing, modifying, implementing, and operating a comprehensive program designed to enhance morale, welfare, and recreation based on interests and organizational goals. 2.Advises the Director on organizational structures, policies, and procedures to address operational challenges and ensure effective operations 3.Employs various software tools such as data processing, graphics, and spreadsheets to gather patron counts and financial information, preparing reports as necessary to support activity management goals. 4.Maintains correspondence, publication files, and contract instructor records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with organizational standards. 5.Reviews and verifies contract instructor receiving reports before submission. 6.Coordinates with the Marketing and Publicity office to promote programs effectively. 7.Manages registration fees, charges, and associated records for all programs. 8.Conducts inventory controls, maintains resale stock levels, and ensures the availability of necessary supplies. 9.Responds to telephone calls and visitors, addressing routine inquiries and directing more complex questions to the Director. 10.Assists in preparing payroll for NAF, IHA, and MLC employees when necessary. 11.Performs housekeeping duties to maintain cleanliness and facility appearance. 12.Assumes the responsibilities of the Director when required. 13.Performs other related duties as assigned. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: Sufficient experience or practical knowledge which provides knowledge of recreational activities, rules, and procedures; and the skills, and abilities necessary to perform the duties. Must have experience which demonstrates the ability to act independently with minimal supervision. Must possess the ability to research problems/projects and analyze data accurately and with attention to details in order to resolve problems. Must possess the ability to deal with the public, co-workers, and supervisors. Familiarity with the operations of an ODR/aquatics facility is preferred. Two (2) years of education beyond high school may be substituted for general experience. Must be able to use Microsoft Word and Excel spreadsheets proficiently. Must receive CPR/AED and First Aid certification within 90 days of employment. Must be available to work an uncommon tour of duty, to include weekends and holidays Successful completion and favorable adjudication of applicable background investigation (Tier 1 Level) is required. Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does allow for education substitution in order to qualify. Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. U.S. Citizens and Non-U.S. Nationals who have resided in the U.S. or U.S. Territory for three (3) or more consecutive years immediately preceding the start of Federal affiliation. All Federal NAF employees are required by PL 104-134 to have salary payments made by electronic funds transfer/direct deposit. Probationary period may be required.
