Job Description
Candidates with operations experience in the cruise industry or in management and fleet movement will find it easy to grasp the responsibilities of our Operations Coordinators. This role involves quality control through the accurate reporting of data to suppliers, confirming services or passenger numbers, and providing accurate information on manifests and emails. The coordinator will manage costs through confirmed services and carry out responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
ResponsibilitiesAccurately report data to suppliers, confirming services or passenger numbers.Provide accurate information on manifests and emails.Control costs through managing confirmed services.Ensure all responsibilities are carried out in accordance with organizational policies and applicable laws.Analyze the risk, benefit, and impact of decisions on the present and future business environment before taking action.Work with internal and external executives.Demonstrate competence in team building, development of objectives and goals, and goal accomplishment.Exhibit exceptionally strong leadership and management capabilities.May require some travel on an as-needed basis.Essential SkillsOperations experience.Proficiency in Microsoft Office.Experience in problem and vendor management.Knowledge of hospitality and travel coordination.Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.Proficiency in Database Software, Internet Software, Inventory Software, Project Management Software, Spreadsheet Software, Word Processing Software, Electronic Mail Software, and In-house Reservation Software.Knowledge of geography is helpful.At least one year of experience is required.Additional Skills & QualificationsOne-year certificate from a college or technical school, or three to six months of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Ability to analyze situations from several points of view.Advanced spreadsheet and computer skills.Work Environment
You will be working in the Operations department under the supervision of the Operations Supervisor, within a team of about 8-12 operations personnel. You will regularly collaborate with the Reservations Department (Group/FIT) to coordinate all land-related requests and activities and ensure all custom/special requests are managed effectively. The role offers a bonus structure up to 20% based on the timeframe worked, with a pro-rated bonus for mid-year starters.
