JOB DESCRIPTION:
Reporting to the Associate Vice President/Director of Technology Transfer, manages all operational activities for the Office of Technology Transfer (OTT). Provides business and leadership support related to strategic planning, organizational development, and internal/external communications. Prepares agendas and keeps notes for various meetings including OTT leadership meetings. Researches, analyzes, and summarizes information associated with OTT initiatives. Drafts and edits presentations for the Associate Vice President. Responsible for the development of budget presentations and various financial reports. Tracks office-wide metrics and generates reports for various stakeholders, including year-end metrics. Reviews and recommends improved financial practices. Effectively manages communications within the department and is a liaison to other university departments. Participates in the development of departmental goals and objectives. Leads the initiative to modify existing policies and procedures and to develop new ones as appropriate. Leads special projects and monitors the status of projects to ensure they are completed according to established criteria. Oversees the distribution of license revenue according to policy and tracking of legal invoicing. Leads information technology, social media, and web initiatives. Maintains professional growth by participating in educational programs and professional organizations and activities to ensure knowledge of national trends, practices, and development. Ensures compliance with state, federal and organizational guidelines. Responsible for supervising the finance and marketing teams in OTT. May also supervise temporary staff, consultants, and/or Emory students to help assist with special projects. Performs related responsibilities as required.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A bachelor's degree and six years of project/communications management experience in a research or technology transfer environment or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Prior experience with supervising staff. Demonstrated proficiency with various software applications and social media platforms. Excellent project management skills. Budget management experience required.NOTE: This role will be granted the opportunity to work from home regularly but must be able to commute to Emory University location as needed and at times, on short notice. Emory reserves the right to change this status with notice to employee.
