We're hiring! Kemin is seeking an Operations Driver to join our team in Des Moines, Iowa. The Operations Driver will operate a semi, tanker and/or box truck for delivery of products and by-products, check delivery and pick-up locations and ensure load, vehicle, delivery or pick up documentation is complete. This position will also perform routine servicing and minor truck maintenance as necessary, and record information such as distance traveled and fuel consumption. This position is required to follow all DOT regulations and safety standards at all times.
The ideal candidate will have a Class A CDL with tanker and hazmat endorsements. It is expected that the employee will take careful considerations when performing their job by driving according to traffic rules, following instructions, specific procedures and protocols, and adhere to the required measures to ensure the highest quality of product and a safe work environment.
This position does not require over the road travel, and will be located in Des Moines, Iowa on 2nd shift, Monday-Friday, 2:00PM-10:15PM.

Responsibilities Safely drive and operate vehicle at all times; perform trailer changes and connections as necessary; all in varying weather conditions.Read delivery assignment prior to departure for route planning, ensuring on-time delivery.Perform pre / post trip vehicle inspection ensuring vehicle is in good working condition, reporting issues or concerns to management.Record information such as distance traveled and fuel consumption.Follow preventive maintenance program; perform routine maintenance checklist including: fueling, checking lights and all liquids. Maintain a clean vehicle, free from clutter and debris inside.Contact management for equipment issues and routine maintenance needs.Follow SOP's, loading, securing and unloading of product/by-product at the designated delivery location.Clean and maintain trailer conditions to comply with the inbound/outbound inspections.Assist Operations with production, packaging, sanitation as needed.Follow and maintain an environment of food and feed safety in compliance with rules and regulations, as applicable.Follow all GMP required procedures and practices and maintain sanitary conditions ensuring high quality products.Load/unload trucks, trailers, and containers (not including bulk tankers).Responsible for wrapping and staging all non-bulk shipments.Maintain required DOT documentation including Bill of Lading and Safety Data Sheet for each load.Perform other duties and projects as assigned. Qualifications Education and Experience:High School Diploma or equivalent with 3+ years of experienceClass A CDL and tanker endorsement required.Clean driving record, knowledge of DOT regulations, HazMat certification.Manufacturing, industry, forklift and previous truck/delivery driver experience.Ability to follow detailed written and oral instructions and work in a fast paced environment.Demonstrated punctuality and consistent attendance.Excellent time management and organizational skills to ensure deliveries are made on schedule.Excellent vision and hand-eye coordination to stay safe while driving along with a general awareness of safety.Ability to work independently and/or in a team environment.Basic computer skills. Proficient verbal and written communication skills & basic understanding of English, both written and oral.
