Operations Engineer
Job Summary: Streamline Innovations, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Operations Engineer for its San Antonio office. The main function of this role is to oversee control room operations and drive process optimization for 60-70 gas sweetening units in our oil and gas facilities. The Operations Engineer would be responsible for maximizing operating efficiency, while maintaining a high focus on safety, timely project execution, and client relations. The ideal candidate will ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operations while implementing best practices for performance enhancement, troubleshooting, and compliance with industry regulations. Job Duties: Control Room & Operations Oversight + Supervise the real-time monitoring and control of gas sweetening units through a PLC based SCADA system. + Ensure safe startup, shutdown, and emergency response procedures are followed. + Analyze alarm trends and operational data to optimize system performance. + Collaborate with field operators to address operational challenges promptly.Direct oversight of 8-12 control room operators; responsible for the hiring, training, and scheduling of all control room personnel Process Optimization & Performance Improvement + Implement process optimization strategies to improve efficiency, reduce downtime, and enhance gas treatment performance. + Conduct data analysis, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis to resolve production bottlenecks. + Work with engineering and maintenance teams to improve amine circulation rates, H₂S/CO₂ removal efficiency, and energy consumption. + Develop and implement KPIs for system reliability and performance monitoring. + Manage engineering projects and lead team members towards a common goal with a timely execution, both in the field and remotely Safety, Compliance & Quality Assurance + Conduct HAZOPs with the engineering team to ensure the safe and optimal operating design for future Streamline gas units + Maintain up-to-date Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for control room operations and optimization. + Support audits and implement corrective actions for any HS&E identified deficiency + Drive safety initiatives. Must be very safety oriented and proactive in risk identification and mitigation Technical Support & Training + Provide technical guidance to control room operators and field engineers on process improvements. + Train staff on process automation, alarm management, and emergency response. + Evaluate new technologies and process automation tools to enhance operational efficiency. + Develop towards a subject matter expert in the H2S treatment processes and technology, with a proficient understanding of the various process units + Utilize focused Design of Experiments to develop and implement testing for the purpose of driving process efficiency gains and reducing costs + Support current Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and champion additional KPIs as needed + Train operations team members in process optimization, quality control, and maintaining Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) at target levels Requirements + Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related field. + Proficiency in DCS/SCADA systems, process simulation tools (HYSYS, Aspen Plus, etc.), and alarm management systems. + 1-3+ years of experience in gas processing, gas sweetening, or control room operations in the oil & gas industry is a plus. + Familiarity with H₂S safety protocols, process safety management (PSM), and risk assessment techniques. + Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills. + Strong knowledge of gas processing plants + Computer proficient including Microsoft Office suite (including Team, SharePoint, Planner) required + Must be willing to travel to location (travel around 25%) Working Conditions & Physical Requirements: + Controlled office environment. + Push, pull, and lift 50lbs or more at a time required Benefits Benefits: + Salary; Exempt + Unlimited PTO + Paid Holidays + Family Leave (Maternity, Paternity) + Training & Development + Health Insurance + 401(k) Retirement Plan with an Employer Match + $100/month Cellphone Allowance + Stock Options + Hybrid Schedule EEO Statement: Streamline Innovations, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer (EEO) and provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability or genetics.
