What You Will Be Doing
As the Operations Engineering & Excellence Manager at Lockheed Martin’s Greenville, SC Aeronautics manufacturing site, you will lead a high-performing team of engineers to drive operational excellence and continuous improvement in the production of the F-16 Fighting Falcon. This role focuses on optimizing processes, enhancing product flow, and aligning resources with strategic priorities through robust management systems and lean manufacturing principles. By fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and inclusion, you will play a pivotal role in developing innovative solutions and achieving impactful results that support the success of our assembly and fabrication processes.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop, deploy, and sustain a daily management and continuous improvement operating system to optimize product flow for F-16 Assembly and Fabrication processes.

- Lead strategic planning and deployment activities, aligning resources to address process gaps and meet operational priorities.

- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce process variation, cycle time, hours per unit, scrap, rework, and repair.

- Manage and mentor a team of engineers, fostering a high-performing, inclusive, and collaborative culture.

- Analyze operational data to proactively identify challenges and implement lean manufacturing principles to achieve measurable results.

- Collaborate with leadership to align on actionable solutions and synchronize work priorities with production demand.

- Empower the workforce through effective communication, leader standard work, and problem-solving initiatives.

- Apply Lockheed Martin’s Culture of Accountability and Full Spectrum Leadership principles to ensure team and organizational success.

Basic Qualifications:
- Experience in a manufacturing, military, aerospace and/or automotive environment

- Experience leading teams in a manufacturing shop floor environment

- Experience creating presentation material and briefing senior level management efficiently and effectively
Desired Skills:
- Bachelor's of Science degree in Engineering or STEM related discipline
- 7+ years of professional experience in a manufacturing, military, aerospace and/or automotive environment
- Leadership experience
- Experience applying change management techniques. Ability to manage and resolve conflict gracefully.
- Passion for effective communication, desire to anticipate Program needs and ability to decide and act instinctively to yield positive results
- Outstanding interpersonal skills. Desire for face to face communications.
- Optimistic mindset in a fast paced, dynamic environment
- Experience applying Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principles

- Strong knowledge foundation for Industrial and Manufacturing System Operations Engineering competencies
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
