The Director of Operations Excellence is a strategic leader responsible for spearheading continuous improvement initiatives across the organization. This role focuses on optimizing processes, eliminating waste, and driving overall performance in areas like quality, cost, delivery, safety, and employee morale. The Director of Operations Excellence provides strategic direction and leadership on key projects across the organization.
This person reports to VP of Operations and is part of the Moove leadership team focused on key strategic initiatives and business process improvement. Moove is an aggressively growing company, and this role requires leadership in a changing environment - performance management is central to this role.

Operations responsibilities:
Lead the development and implementation of an operational excellence strategy aligned with business goals.Define and execute CAPEX projects for facility startups and renovations. Design and layout facilities to maximize distribution efficiency.Conduct root cause analyses to identify inefficiencies and defects in current processes.Design and implement improved processes to streamline workflows, reduce cycle times, and eliminate waste.Develop and manage a project portfolio of continuous improvement initiatives.Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and leverage data to measure progress and quantify the impact of operational improvements.Coach and train employees at all levels on continuous improvement methodologies, tools, and techniques (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma).Foster a culture of continuous improvement, where identifying and solving problems is encouraged.Collaborate with cross-functional teams across the organization to identify and implement improvements.Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across the organization.Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, to present findings, recommendations, and secure buy-in for initiatives.Travel:
Travel requirements will vary, but 50% travel should be expected. Successful candidates will have the ability to travel as needed to ensure operational success.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
10+ years of operations management or continuous improvement experienceBachelor’s degree required, MBA preferred Excellent communication, organizational, presentation, team building and planning skillsProven track record of successfully leading and implementing continuous improvement and operational excellence initiativesExperience in facility start-ups, expansions, and closures. Facility layout and design experience required.Strong critical thinking and reasoning skills; judgement; teamwork; able to handle confidential information appropriatelyExcellent project management skills.Ability to work independently, with ambition and bias for action; results-orientedStrong functional ability w/ Microsoft Office Suite programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)LANGUAGE ABILITY:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
MATH ABILITY:
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
COMPUTER SKILLS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have working knowledge of Word Processing software; Spreadsheet software, Inventory software and experience working in an enterprise wide system. Experience working in and ERP environment is desirable.
