Operations Improvement Manager

ROLE  

Under general direction, enhances organizational productivity and profitability by overseeing the implementation, execution, and performance management of operational processes such as productivity & profitability analysis, labor management, standard operating processes, best practices, routing and mapping. This role collaborates with various functional managers to evaluate and coordinate continuous improvement objectives 

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Partners with Managers to analyze productivity performance, develop and implement continuous improvement plans. Ensures adherence and coach to standard operating processes across all functional areas. Partners with others such as routing team, pricing, sales etc., to analyze route & customer profitability, coordinating appropriate corrective actions. Introduces and coaches' fundamentals of business improvement plans, evaluating current operating processes and assisting with priority process improvements. Identifies areas for improvement and develops action plans to address performance gaps. Validates budget planning information; analyzes year-to-date data versus prior year and budget. Tracks progress against targets and provides regular performance updates to stakeholders. Implements performance management systems to drive accountability and continuous improvement. Reviews routing with Route Managers and/or Route Auditors, proactively flexing labor with anticipated +/- volume fluctuations. Supports Standard Operating Procedures for data collection, routing, and dispatching processes. Works directly with local management to ensure periodic route reviews, optimizing routes, identifying route reductions with +/- volume, re-routes and communicating changes and benchmarks to Route Managers, Route Auditors and drivers. Executes strategies to improve labor management and optimize workforce efficiency. Prepares comprehensive reports and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations. In-direct supervision of full-time employees. Other duties as assigned. 

QUALIFICATIONS 

Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities is qualifying.  A typical way to qualify is:

Four years of relevant work experience, including at least three years as an Industrial Engineer/Project Manager in a logistics environment and/or three years in Operations or District management or related industry preferred. High school or GED required. Bachelors in business administration, operations management, or a related field preferred. Familiarity with IT logistics systems. Excellent project management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks, manage timelines, and drive results. Ability to act independently and evaluate people, processes and performance management objectively and continuously. Ability to work as part of a team. Ability to communicate, coach, motivate, and drive process change. Advanced MS Office skills, with a focus on Excel.  Driver’s license required.
