Role Summary

The Operations Maintenance Coordinator (OMC) is a vital person for an effective maintenance planning and scheduling process and is the leader of the area MWS Team. The OMC is responsible for the coordination of all maintenance and repair work and the improvement and sustainability of overall equipment reliability in his/her area. As well as, the full authority for requesting, approving and controlling all maintenance and repair work in his/her area of responsibility.  The successful candidate will understand and align business operations and Paper as he/she executes their role to exceed expectations and align with GPI business, cultural, financial and operational objectives.

 

Job Accountabilities

Lead Daily MWS and Weekly Scheduling Meetings as outlined in the workflow process Work with Operations and Maintenance teams to identify work for the area and generate work order requests based on need and priority for the day/week Review Basic Care reports and finds to generate work requests for corrective action Ensure all requests are correctly prepared with the following criteria Ensure work request contain detailed and necessary information and documentation Ensure work orders have the correct equipment location and work type assigned with a realistic priority and target completion date is consistent with the overall needs of the area Determine if improvement, indirect work is expense versus capital and takes actions accordingly Utilize the “management of change” process appropriately Authorizes work requests Utilizes up-to-date backlog reports to coordinate maintenance activities in his/her area of responsibility. Uses this backlog as a guide to specify planned work to be scheduled Follow up with Maintenance FLL on work performed by maintenance, and contractors in his/her area of responsibility for proper efficient execution and completion.  Working with Area Maintenance Manager, authorizes overtime as needed to complete critical work in a timely manner. Support the Maintenance Planner in detailed planning for daily, weekly and shutdown process. Take steps to have engineering involved in chronic problems addressed to identify RCF and resolve. Maintain chronic equipment list, and “when down do list” and uses it for resource allocation and scheduling Utilize 5-S, Six Sigma and Lean manufacturing principles and continuously identify ways to reduce plant costs through lean concepts Other duties as assigned

 

Required Qualifications

Bachelor s Degree in Electrical or Chemical Engineering or related technical field and a minimum five (5) years of experience working with power and/or recovery processes

OR

Five (5) years of years of experience in power and recovery processes and three (3) years of experience in a leadership role Demonstrated knowledge of power and recovery operations Strong interpersonal and leadership skills Demonstrated troubleshooting skills of the pulping process Proficient in utilizing Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Excel, and Outlook Proven experience with reliability and continuous improvement principles and techniques Solid oral and written communication skills Possess an entrepreneurial and innovative spirit, with a situational (servant, directive, collaborative) leadership approach to managing the team Available to provide coverage on holiday, off-days, weekends and after-hours  Must be able to pass a background check, drug screening and reference check Legally authorized to work in the United States

 

Desired Characteristics

Experienced in managing in an union environment Considerable knowledge and/or experience of safe work practices Ability to achieve maintenance excellence by establishing and communicating goals Comprehensive knowledge of predictive maintenance practices and procedures Proficient computer skills in a MMS, i.e. Maximo Working knowledge of SAP Experience and knowledge of Process Safety Management (PSM) Strong skills in areas of: operational analysis, budget, problem solving, project management, communication, organizational and leadership Knowledge/experience with 5-S, Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing principles

 

Pay Range:   $92,530.00 - $123,405.00
