The Northeast Energy Center (NEC) LNG facility comprises a meter station, over one mile of interconnect pipeline, feed gas pretreatment system, turbine motor/generator hybrid drive, 250,000 gallon per day gas liquefaction system, 2 million gallon full-containment LNG storage tank, LNG truck-loading station with four loading bays, process control system, storm water management infrastructure, and other ancillary systems. Together, these elements form a cutting-edge facility poised to meet the region's LNG needs efficiently and sustainably.
Opportunity Summary
The O&M Technician is responsible for the operation and maintenance of liquified natural gas (LNG) equipment and systems related to ongoing LNG operations in a safe and efficient manner. The role requires interpreting electrical schematics, taking equipment readings, calibrating instrumentation, and conducting inspections. Additionally, the position involves working without supervision, performing cleaning and painting duties, and completing any required training.
Primary Functions
Performs board operations, field operations and maintenance activities. Performs mechanical repairs and maintenance on LNG plant equipment, including but not limited to pumps, fans, hoists, compressors, piping, valves, and filters. Takes equipment readings, interprets abnormal readings and alarms to take predesignated corrective action including activation of emergency equipment and procedures. Operates all plant equipment as required for type of process in operation, liquefaction, trucking, and stand-by. Works without supervision on maintaining proper plant operation, security, and emergency equipment and procedures, notifies Supervision of any abnormalities. Interprets electrical schematics, piping, and instrumentation diagrams (P&ID), and process flow diagrams (PFD). Performs work orders for inspections, preventive and corrective maintenance system. Maintains spare parts inventory reporting deficiencies for restock and reorder. Does cleaning, painting, pipe fitting, carpentry, masonry, and insulation work. Works rotating shift work when plant is running during Vaporization, Liquefaction, or Trucking. Completes company sponsored training as required. Performs other duties as required.NAES Safe

Working Relationships
The O&M Technician reports to the O&M Supervisor and collaborates with all other plant personnel while receiving guidance and direction from the Plant Manager.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
Physical requirements include the possibility of standing for extended periods of time, stair and ladder climbing and routinely lifting up to 50 pounds. Protective equipment must be worn in the performance of some duties (e.g., hard hats, safety glasses, air masks, ear protection, chemical suits, hot gloves, and high voltage protective equipment, etc.). Work with hazardous materials may be required. There are extensive smoking restrictions in and around the facility.
Fitness for Duty
All employees will participate in the Fitness for Duty Program. This program includes a post-offer physical examination and drug screening and post-employment random drug screening.
Work Schedule
Regular scheduled workdays are based on a 12-hour rotating shift schedule, days and nights. Position requires extended working hours and varied shifts with weekend and holiday work, as required by schedules, workload, and plant conditions. "On call" status will periodically be required.
Compensation
The initial starting compensation will range from $37.84 to $45.43 per hour, plus annual bonus.
Job Qualifications
Ability to understand procedures and instructions specific to the area of assignment as would be acquired in four years of high school. Industrial trade training associated with valve maintenance and repair, reciprocating/screw compressors, PLC automation systems, electrical motors, low/medium voltage circuits desired. Previous work experience in LNG or industrial gases. Must possess working knowledge in operation and maintenance of centrifugal and reciprocating compressors, centrifugal pumps, stand-by electric generators, industrial engines, pneumatic and electronic controls, high output gas fired equipment, and all other process plant equipment. Must be able to understand and follow oral and written instructions, as well as keep accurate equipment logs and records. Capable of interpreting electrical schematics, P&IDs, and process flow diagrams. Ability to work well with others and be self-directed, as well as apply creative solutions to unique problems is desirable.
