Overview: This full-time Select Exempt Service position is based in the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission’s (FWC) Florida Youth Conservation Centers Network (FYCCN), serving as the Lead Partner Coordinator and Office Director delegate as needed. The successful candidate will join a dedicated team that works to create the next generation that cares about conservation. FYCCN has numerous conservation centers, a team of regional coordinators, the Project WILD program, and hundreds of partners who work together to support youth in conserving Florida’s fish and wildlife. We support the delivery of summer camp programming and year-round school field trips which embody the four pillars of the FYCCN: Shooting Sports, Ethical Angling, Boating, and Wildlife Discovery. Experience: + 7 years of professional experience in natural science or education, 3 of which must have been in fish and wildlife conservation field work or conservation program implementation. + Substitution of a bachelor’s degree from and accredited college or university and three years of experience of fish and wildlife conservation field work or conservation education program implementation,OR + Substitution of a masters degree from and accredited college or university and two years of experience of fish and wildlife conservation field work or conservation education program implementation,OR + A doctorate from an accredited college or university can substitute for the required experience. The ideal candidate must be passionate about getting youth outside to create the next generation that cares about fish and wildlife resources. The incumbent will communicate with stakeholders, constituents, and partners, and perform the functions of this position with a strong understanding of the FYCCN’s mission, future goals, and thorough knowledge and application of FYCCN practices. Description of Duties: + Serves in a critical leadership position in the FYCCN Director's office; + Works with the FYCCN Director to independently identify and resolve operational and management matters; + Supervises up to 9 statewide staff and serves as statewide project lead over Regional Partnership Coordinators; + Conducts organizational studies and evaluates work plans to ensure workplace efficiency and effectiveness; + Examines, organizes, and plans the most effective programmatic linkages for a varied group of stakeholders, constituents and partners; + Assists staff with identifying their training needs, knowledge, and abilities; + Identifies and prioritizes workloads and conducts on-site observations to ascertain project functions, work performed, methods, and equipment used; + Conducts routine meetings to keep FYCCN staff informed about important topics and stay connected; + Serves as a FYCCN liaison on various conservation education and strategic planning teams; + Assists with outreach and recruitment strategies; + Provides technical assistance, consultative services and direction for development, implementation and expansion of youth conservation initiatives in state agencies and local governments; + Provides input on conservation education curriculum for FYCCN centers and school programs. + Administrative Duties: Attend staff meetings, complete and submit required reports, participate in professional development courses, and complete timesheets in a timely and thorough manner. Position Requirements: + Possess and maintain a valid Florida Driver License. + Statewide travel is required to perform the duties of this position (1-25%). + May require work time outside of regularly scheduled hours over 40 hours per week, including evenings and weekends. + Within six months of employment, successful completion and certification in First Aid/CPR/AED, FWC Trailer Training, Boater Safety Certification, Hunter Safety Certification, ACA Kayak Level 1, and USA Archery Level I.
