OPERATIONS MANAGER

The Job Details: The Operations Manager oversees the planning, development and implementation of all warehouse procedures and activities required to meet customer requirements. The Operations Manager works closely with the General Manager, Superintendent, and Customer Service Manager to continually exceed USCS’s goals. The Operations manager serves as an interface between customer service and overall coordination of all warehouse activities. Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

 

•        Provide leadership to the efficient coordination and execution of workflow throughout the warehouse; consistently keeping safety, sanitation, security, cost controls, productivity, accuracy, team environment, and customer satisfaction in line with facility goals.

•        Schedule cleaning of the facility and manage programs to keep tools and equipment in designated areas.

•        Oversee inventory control functions and procedures, including cycle counts, product rotation and recall, training, customer claims and requests, and record keeping.

•        Direct and oversee job assignments and plan daily labor schedules.

•        Participate in the hiring and training process of new warehouse employees.

•        Audit operations with food safety, quality, and legality in mind.

•        Work with Customer Service personnel to ensure that all requirements and requests are responded to in the highest professional manner and maintaining a professional and courteous relationship with all customers.

•        Develop and maintain good working relationships at all levels within the USCS team environment.

•        Provide leadership and communication as needed to maximize individual and team performance.

•        Act on the General Manager's behalf when necessary.

•        Assist in processing payroll as necessary.

•        Provide assistance, where needed, in processing invoices, claims and freight charges.

•        Complete any additional tasks delegated by the General Manager

•        The Operations Manager is responsible for Product Safety, Quality and Legality.  Day to day responsibilities may be delegated to the Superintendent.

•        The Operations Manager will complete the responsibilities for the General Manger in his/her absence.

•        Ensure that all warehouse sanitation, safety and security activities are consistently performed within the highest USCS, OSHA and other government compliance, and industry standards.

•        Oversee and supervise Regulatory and Quality Assurance issues within the facility.

What We Are Looking For:

Education

•        4-year College Degree or 5+ years supervisory experience in similar industry/business preferred

Experience

•        Warehouse Supervision and operations, preferably in a food or temperature-controlled environment

•        Radio frequency and other warehouse computer applications such as MS Office and Lotus Notes.

•        Detail and customer service oriented.

•        Planning, organizing, professional written and oral communication, problem solving, decision making, excellent mathematical skills.

•        Must be able to consistently lead and influence others to take positive action.

•        Handle multiple high priority tasks in a fast-paced team environment, and requires the ability to work well independently with minimal supervision
