ResponsibilitiesProject management in terms of equipment and labor and determine project length and costs; responsible for adherence to time frames and costs.Scheduling resources, submitting required paperwork, negotiating with regulatory agency personnel, and preparing written plans and compliance documents.Monitor and keep the client informed of progress; recognize and negotiate authorized changes in the original project plan and adjust costs accordingly.Perform field activities and assist as a lab chemist as necessary in the on-site lab.Maintain client relations throughout the project; provide progress reports to and negotiate change orders with the client.Supervise personnel involved with field operations, plan work to ensure safe conditions, and instruct in methods and procedures.Manage and direct 3 supervisors, 15 operators, and 1 lab technician.Prioritize personnel safety, environmental compliance, and process safety.Learn, comply, and be proficient with numerous work and safety processes.Participate in the committees, particularly for safety.Develop a deep understanding of mechanical and chemical practices used and provide technical guidance to staff for troubleshooting and adapting operations to ever-changing feed to the process.Lead small projects such as equipment maintenance and piping upgrades.Participate in hiring, performance evaluation, disciplining, promotion, and termination decisions.
Essential Skills Operations managementProject managementBS degree in the sciences - Chemistry preferred; Chemical or Manufacturing engineering degree acceptable3-5 years of technical experience in operations management (plant, production, or operational management)Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experienceGood people skills and communicationAbility to partner and speak directly with the customer at their siteFlexibility to be on call 24/7 in case of emergenciesAbility to listen well and take feedback
