Reporting to VP of Operations, the Operations Manager is responsible for making informed decisions about resource allocation and the implementation of effective process improvement techniques. This is done by following best practices to maximize productivity and minimize costs, while producing goods of the highest quality and staying informed of industry trends and best practices to continuously strive to improve operations.
Responsibilities Improve the production process in order to increase efficiency and reduce costsAdopt new technologies and implement lean manufacturing principles, and the development of flexible production systems that can quickly adapt to changes in demand.Make informed decisions about how to allocate resources, including raw materials, labor, and equipment, in order to maximize productivity and minimize costs. Understand the production process and predict demand and adjust resources accordinglyIdentify and potential bottlenecks and inefficienciesConduct regular audits to ensure that the products being produced meet the required standards of quality and performanceImplement quality control proceduresWork closely with suppliers and other stakeholders in the supply chain to ensure that raw materials and other resources are available when they are needed, and to minimize delays and disruptions to the production process.Carefully manage inventory levels to ensure that raw materials and finished goods are available when needed, without tying up too much capital in inventoryDevelop a clear understanding of the production process in order to effectively manage operations in the manufacturing industry, operations managers must have a deepImplement process improvement techniques and quality control proceduresManage inventory levels effectivelyBuild strong relationships with suppliersUtilize technology and data analyticsFoster a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging employees to identify inefficiencies in the production process and to suggest ways to improveCreate a process for employees to share their ideas and suggestions, and recognize and reward employees who make meaningful contributions to process improvementStay informed of industry trends and best practicesStay informed of industry trends and best practices in order to stay ahead of the competition and to continuously improve operations. Bachelor’s degree (preferably in a technical field)Lean certification: Six Sigma Green Belt or Black beltRequired background:
Minimum of 8 years of manufacturing operations management experienceProficiency in Kaizen, Problem Solving, 5S, and other efficiency and continuous improvement tools.Strong attention to detail; strong personal organization, collaboration and time management skillsLean Manufacturing methodology knowledge and experience a plusKnowledge Skills & Abilities:
Proven experience in successfully implementing quality improvement initiatives in an industrial manufacturing setting. Strong problem-solving skills. Effective coaching and teaching abilities. Understanding of team dynamics and ability to maximize team effectiveness. Additional InformationSalary Range: $108,000.00 - $134,000.00 per year
Actual salary will be based on a variety of factors including relevant internal and external experience, knowledge, skills, scope of job, geographical location or other factors permitted by law
