Scope of role
The Linear Motion Division is a major contributor to the Segment, with approximately 1,500 global associates and $400M in revenue. There are 9 main sites located across the United States, Mexico, the Caribbean, & Europe.
This role is based in Cleveland Ohio facility with a total sales volume of $45mil. The product lines include ball screws/nuts and screw jacks. The focus of this role is driving change consistent with policy deployment and the strategic plan and daily management.
The Operations Manager will be responsible for directing the manufacturing of quality products and on time delivery to customers. This position is accountable for achieving product cost targets, maintaining proper inventory levels, and a minimum overhead structure. This specifically includes lean manufacturing processes, improving service to our customers, building strong employee engagement, and leading this operation in a very fast-moving industry.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible for achieving operating performance targets and improvements including cost reductions, reduced cycle times, and reduced lead timesAccountable for providing accurate shipment forecasts and achieving said forecast.Responsible for leading the production startup processes for new product introduction utilizing manufacturing engineering resources.Direct the maintenance of a safe and healthy working environment by eliminating hazards, training employees, and promoting safety awareness. Continually upgrade, direct, comply with, and enforce Company safety programs and policies.Promote the Regal Business System tools while improving RBS training and facilitation skills by pursuing certification in RBS tools.Develop a strategy and drive process improvements. Lead and monitor plant performance through direct involvement, team development, coaching, establishment of goals and good countermeasure practices.Assure coordination of plant functions, responsibilities, budgetary performance, manpower utilization, skills, equipment, and facilities.Motivate all plant employees, encouraging optimum productivity, develop, train, assist, and advise supervisors, and administer company policies and procedures knowledgeably. Drive positive employee engagement and encourage / model open communication.Plan and determine staffing requirements based on an understanding of goals and objectives.Expected Outcomes

Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Engineering (preferred) or a business discipline. Seven to ten years overall manufacturing experience required, including machining and assembly with at least five years prior management experience.Prior experience with analyzing trends through a variety of ERP systems preferredSignificant prior experience with deploying lean methodology and tools to improve operations.Self-starter, with experience in a team-based organizational structure and culture.Success in managing through influence, persuasion, and coaching. Must be willing to travel occasionally by all forms of transportation. This position requires 10% travel.
