GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB: 

Directs and coordinates activities of production department(s) in processing materials or manufacturing products in industrial organization by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.  Manages staff and associates who supervise employees in the manufacturing plant. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the plant. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.


RESPONSIBILITIES:  

Participates / leads problem solving events in house and with the customer. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.Creates an atmosphere in which information flows smoothly by expressing ideas and thoughts verbally and in written form, exhibiting good listening and comprehension, and keeping others adequately informed.Motivates others to perform well by exhibiting confidence in self and others, inspiring respect and trust, reacting well under pressure and showing courage to take action.Ensure overall operations of the Jeffersonville Plant are in conformance with the Quality System, striving for ZERO Defects.Maintains a neat and clean environment at all times, understanding and implementing Lean Concepts in all areas. Developing of Operating Plan with flexibility to handle volume variations.Capacity Planning, Material and Information Flow Systems, Quality Systems/Process for the entire Value Stream.Plant leadership experience and a positive motivator are absolutely necessary. Identify and requisition the necessary capital monies to satisfy present and future needs for growth.Adopting and implementing manufacturing methodologies and standardization a complete improvement process.Ability to significantly influence productivity and competitiveness. Perform annual job evaluations for all direct report management personnel.Identify and resolve safety concerns.This job description does not list all the duties of the job. You may be asked to perform other duties.   Requirements  Bachelor’s degree in Business or Engineering preferred, along with 10-12 years leadership experience in a manufacturing environment. (Injection molding environment is a plus) Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.   Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.Fundamental computer skills.
