The position
As an Operations Manager, your primary responsibility is to ensure the reliable production of high-quality device components. This involves overseeing and managing operations with selected Contract Manufacturers (CMOs) and suppliers using the concept of a virtual plant. The virtual plant includes a team of internal Novo Nordisk Subject Matter Experts from functions such as supply chain planning, technical support, and quality assurance. 

You will function as the informal leader of this team, ensuring capacity, compliance, quality, and manufacturing readiness to meet Novo Nordisk's demand. You will develop and maintain robust relationships with CMOs and suppliers, drive process improvements, and ensure the timely delivery of high-quality products.

Your key activities include:

Acting as the primary vendor responsible for selected CMOs and suppliers, leading operational and business reviews, along with performance evaluations Ensuring timely delivery of products by supporting daily operations in close collaboration with Logistics and QA stakeholders Developing and following up on joint KPIs with CMOs and suppliers to monitor and enhance performance Identifying, sharing, and implementing changes and process improvements to foster growth, ensuring smooth transitions from project phases to operations

 

Qualifications
To succeed in this role, we believe you to:

Hold a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business administration, or another relevant field Bring practical experience in operations, supply chain management, process support, or project management within the pharmaceutical or other regulated sectors Demonstrate excellent communication and stakeholder management skills Possess good analytical skills, along with expertise in using Excel, Think-cell, World, PowerPoint, or PowerBi Display full proficiency in both spoken and written English 

A good understanding of devices manufacturing processes and quality assurance is an advantage, along with indirect management. 

On a personal level, you bring a strong quality mind-set and solid analytical skills, able to identify best practices and create improvements in processes, methods, and approaches. You can build relationships through trust and transparency and are able to communicate across cultures. You enjoy working proactively in a dynamic environment, with many tasks to coordinate and execute, with changing priorities and strict deadlines. Finally, you possess good communication skills and a structured approach which allow you to gain engagement from both internal and external stakeholders.

 

About the department
You will join the Operations Management department, which is part of the GCMD area, comprising a team of approx. 250 colleagues located in Hillerød and in Hjørring. We ensure the supply of a large number of components produced by our worldwide suppliers as well as internal production to our global footprint of Novo Nordisk factories. 

We are responsible for deliveries to world-wide customers in Finished Product Manufacturing sites where assembly of devices is conducted. Our priorities are to run efficient operations at our suppliers, meet our customer demands every day, while diligently working to drive costs down and being agile.
