As a highly valued member of the Forney, TX Team, this role will plan and direct manufacturing resources at the site to achieve the budgeted shipping levels and maximize profits from operations. This position is responsible for leading employees engaged in plant operations, procurement, and shipping. Foster a team atmosphere, provide vision, and demonstrate support of the company’s core processes. Responsible for day-to-day management of assigned departments, through the management of supervisory staff, including achieving production goals, managing performance of direct reports, making sound operational decisions, solving problems, and managing conflict. **AS AN OPERATIONS MANAGER, YOU WILL:** + Manage team member performance by setting goals and consistently holding employees accountable for meeting performance standards through coaching, counseling, and timely review process + Communicate and relate with all levels of the organization + Confer with Managers to coordinate activities of individual departments + Be accountable for the productivity and morale of employees + Drive and maintain high standards of 6S (6th S being Safety) and visual management across the distribution center floor + Manage Capital Expenditure to budget + Participate with Distribution Center Manager and functional leaders to develop and execute on annual sales plan + Provides input on Lead Time Quotations for orders, projects and expedites + Lead the Gemba and manage expectations with operations team and cross functionally to meet customer demand + Build a data-oriented culture for metric development and tracking.  A3 project approach and accountability + Develop the team and align to Copeland expectations and values + Lead other duties/projects as assigned by DC Manager **REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:** **​** + Bachelor’s degree in engineering or business + 7+ years of distribution center leadership experience + Proven experience and knowledge of manufacturing systems and disciplines + Experience and knowledge of various manufacturing equipment, i.e. machine tools, assembly tools, paint systems, material handling equipment, assembly testers, facilities equipment + Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, hazardous waste, and EEO regulations + Must have a good understanding of company goals and be able to direct manufacturing resources to support these goals **PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:** + Excellent communication skills in English / Spanish + Knowledge of ISO QMS + Knowledge of Manhattan WMS **Our Commitment to Our People** Across the globe, we are united by a singular Purpose: Sustainability is no small ambition.
