WECO equipment serves several fruit and nut processing sectors: tomato sorting on the harvester, walnut and pecan line sorting and drying, hops kiln moisture monitoring, and small fruit sorting of blueberries, cranberries, olives, coffee cherries and wine grapes.
POSITION SUMMARY:
As an Operations Manager you will partner with WECO management to provide operational and safety leadership. They are responsible for maintaining inventory and facility management for all WECO US locations. Provide leadership to shipping/receiving department and cross-functional team members, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Operations:
Directly manages employees in the shipping/receiving department and handles all aspects of employee development including but not limited to annual performance reviews, promotion matrix reviews, enforcement of company policies and disciplinary action. Responsible for all aspects of facility lease and maintenance for all locations. Maintain vendor relationships for yard cleanup, lawn and tree care, etc. Manage physical inventory, records, and discrepancy oversight. Ensure that year end and other periodic audits of material are accurate with the system totals. Work in inventory management systems (Fishbowl) for work order fulfillment tasks. Other duties as assigned.Safety:
Partner with HR Team and Duravant Health and Safety Leaders, to ensure that WECO locations adhere to safety policies and procedures in compliance with state and federal OSHA rules and regulations Administer US online safety and health employee training program Leads the STOP program and manages observation schedule. Manage the Field Service Take Two program. Initiate the investigation of worksite accidents, injuries, and near misses. Compiles and submits accident reports required by Duravant, insurance companies, and regulatory agencies. Cooperate in the preparation of material and evidence for organization use in hearings, lawsuits, and insurance investigations. Maintains safety information (OSHA recordables, training records, safety program overview) on websites such as ISNetworld, Contactor Compliance and Avetta. Creates monthly toolbox talks and presents at SQDC meetings throughout the work week. Ensures safety data sheets (SDS’s) are maintained and readily accessible when needed. Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's degree in business or similar field from four-year College or university; or three to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience with OSHA and State OSHA laws and regulations.Skills/Abilities:
Maintain a high level of personal and professional integrity in dealings with WECO and with customers.Travel:
May include travel up to approximately 25% of the time to other US locations.
